Re: Favorite Authors?

I've also enjoyed a lot of Michael Crichton books. I like the pseudo science of them. I read Jurassic Park the first of many times in the 6th grade. Have read The Lost World several times. Hated the movie. The only comparison to the book was the title and the fact that there were dinosaurs. Read Sph...

Re: History of FPS article

I've been pondering your question for awhile Scotland, which has been made slightly more difficult by the fact that I've never actually played Portal. Insomuch as I believe the game is realtime I would argue it's a FPS. I would also argue that any game where you're sole point of view is first person...

Re: Obscure (Wii)

Critic, I know it's a bit early to be thinking of Halloween games, but the original obscure for the ps2 ( probably xbox as well but I can't vouch for that) would be great for that holiday. Plus it's my understanding that it might take that long to find a good deal on the game. Its definitely superio...

One of the reasons I love this site is that it reminds me of games I'd completely forgotten about!! :D

Re: Basic Cell Phone Users?

I was a basic phone user for many years after smartphones came along, until I finally gave in. Being someone who has a bad sense of direction, having GPS for the first time is awesome. I'm sitting around waiting for a prescription to be refilled and it's nice to have something to pass the time. I d...

Re: Secret of Monkey Island (Sega CD)

There's no real way to get permanently stuck although you do need to remember you can only hold your breath for 10 minutes for anyone who's tried holding it longer in this game. :)

Re: Clue (Genesis)

I remember trying to play this with my wife years ago. If I recall correctly, playing multiplayer there was no way to prevent the other player from knowing the outcome of your inquiries other than physically looking away from the screen. Am I recalling that correctly? I do know I was disappointed wi...

ET Creator

http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-35560458 I guess I never realized that ET for the 2600 was created by one guy. I knew it was rushed which accounted for its lackluster gameplay, but I can't imagine what it would be like to be the ONE guy to have all the blame thrown at him. I feel much better about ...

Re: Hitman series

A great series, but I made the mistake of playing them in reverse order. They really made some impressive strides in gameplay and the original was almost unplayable for me after the last two, especially Blood Money.
