Re: Looking thru old catalogs is fun

Sierra games used to send out a catalog of upcoming games in the mid-90's, I remember. I also love seeing ads for old games in the back of older comic books ( along with the sea monkeys and xray glasses, of course).

Re: Tiger Handhelds

I remember having a handheld version of Madden when I was around 7 or 8. I mastered the heck out of that thing. Had a pretty simplistic Ghostbusters handheld too, but for some reason I thought the case was smaller than your standard Tiger handheld.

Re: Toughest game you've beaten

My wife and I completed Obscure for the ps2 on the highest difficulty level. I'm sure it's not the hardest game of all time, but they're incredibly stingy with health and ammo on that difficulty level to the point where you need to know exactly how many bullets it takes to kill an enemy and seriousl...

Re: Battles with a Friend/Sibling

My brothers and I would play Goldeneye for hours when we were younger. It would get pretty crowded with the four of us. I had a bit of an age advantage over them at the time. The only rule was NO Oddjob.

Re: Laser Disc Arcade Games

I've never been to it, but I have a buddy who talks bout this place called Galloping Ghost Arcade in Chicago. I haven't gone through the list to see if it has any laser disc games, but I believe the website has a list of all their arcade games. They're all set to free play which is pretty cool. If I...

Re: Favorite enemy?

Besides many of the obvious, I have two memorable ones for myself that come to mind. The first "boss" in Wolfenstein 3d. First of all, you don't expect to see him when you open a random door and find yourself staring at a giant-mini- gun-for-arms Nazi. Then he shouts "I'm coming for y...

Re: Your Favourite Lemmings (and Lemmings like) Games?

Not exactly the same as Lemmings, but I loved Lost Vikings for the Genesis ( with the 6 button controller that is, the 3 button controller drove me nuts). There was also a game for the Genesis called Humans that was kind of similar. I only rented it once do I don't remember it extraordinarily well.

Re: Phantasy Star Order?

Congratulations on your purchase, NES. Not sure if you've started playing this game yet, but I just wanted to give you a heads up that quite a few levels involve falling through pits to get where you want/need to go. I know you plan on graphing out the dungeons, so I'm not sure of the best way to gr...

Re: NFL Blitz (N64)

I remember this game being played on the PS1 a lot in my dorm for bragging rights freshman year (along with Goldeneye and Mortal Kombat 4). Maybe it was my ignorance at the time or just bad memory, but I don't recall thinking the game had lag issues. I do remember the game being very fun and conveni...

Re: Good Resident Evil clones?

Obviously the Silent Hill games are all good/excellent games with the exception of the last one that was made for the PS2 (Shattered Memories). The 4th one (The Room) was kind of unique, but still pretty good. Clock Tower 3 for the PS2 was more like a traditional RE game. It was unique from RE in th...
