Re: Free remakes of Kings Quest 1,2,3!!!!!

Never played the Kings Quest series, but I did play Torins Passage from Sierra ( apparently no ones heard of it). Always felt it was kind of open ended, but only recently thought to look it up. Found out it was supposed to be a multi part series alternating with Kings Quest, but that style of comput...

Re: What was your first console?

My first console was an Atari 7800 in either 87 or 86. My friend convinced me to get a 7800. He said Nintendo's only edge was better graphics. Plus he had a 2600 so I could trade games with him. It didn't take long for me to figure out that wasn't Nintendo's only edge! About a year later I got a Se...

Re: Toughest game you've beaten

Earthworm Jim was a pretty difficult game. The level where you had to navigate the fish bowl around was probably my least favorite ( along with the Pete the Puppy level).

Re: What was your first console?

To re-ressurect an old thread that I thought was interesting, here you go. I believe it would have been the Christmas of1987 when I was 7 years old. I had asked for a video game system, not knowing there were systems other than the NES. I ended up getting an Atari 7800 with Pole position II and Supe...

Re: Atari 2600 or 7800?

I assume that JustLikeHeaven has made his decision already, but I felt that there is one negative that needs to be reiterated when anybody purchases a 7800. For the love of god, invest in any controllers that are not the stock 7800 controllers! Those things will break your wrist if you actually want...

Xevious

After reading the critics review of the 2600 version of this game I'm glad I'm not the only one who couldn't figure out how to beat that friggin' mothership boss (it actually pops up at least a couple times throughout the game). I had the 7800 version and I think I was the only kid in a 30 mile radi...

Re: Looking thru old catalogs is fun

Sierra games used to send out a catalog of upcoming games in the mid-90's, I remember. I also love seeing ads for old games in the back of older comic books ( along with the sea monkeys and xray glasses, of course).

Re: Tiger Handhelds

I remember having a handheld version of Madden when I was around 7 or 8. I mastered the heck out of that thing. Had a pretty simplistic Ghostbusters handheld too, but for some reason I thought the case was smaller than your standard Tiger handheld.

Re: Toughest game you've beaten

My wife and I completed Obscure for the ps2 on the highest difficulty level. I'm sure it's not the hardest game of all time, but they're incredibly stingy with health and ammo on that difficulty level to the point where you need to know exactly how many bullets it takes to kill an enemy and seriousl...
