Re: Sega Genesis Mini review

As an interesting addendum, Retro-Bit sells officially licensed 6 button controllers that work with the Sega Genesis Mini (And PC, PS3, Switch, and even the Super Retrocade that I believe the Critic reviewed a few years back. Funny you should mention Super Retrocade, I was actually thinking of pick...

Re: 2020/1/25: Atari 7800: Dark Chambers, Serpentine

Although I wouldn't call Dark Chambers a good game, it's definitely not a F. IMHO, a F should be reserved for games that are unplayable. Dark Chambers is playable, just dull. I think the critic's first grade of a D was more accurate.

Re: Sega Genesis Mini review

I don't know why I can't bring myself to pick one of these up. I have an NES classic and a Retron 77 so I am not opposed to emulation. I don't know if it's the price or that I have a good chunk of the games between carts and Sonics Ultimate Genesis Collection. Maybe it will be an impulse buy someday...

Re: Commando NES Freezing

I think I may have found an interesting discovery on this. I think this might be related to the controller you use. My 3 NES systems are a original NES, a retro-bit RES and a hyperkin Retron 3. My RES came with two controllers. The freezing happened on all 3 systems. I was using the retro-bit 1st co...

Re: 2019/8/25: Atari 2600: Shark Attack, Double Dragon

I actually like Double Dragon quite a bit. Once you master the elbow smash it becomes much more playable and fun! I have beaten the game without losing a life. I cannot use the default 2600 stick however, I need to use a genesis controller or a 7800 proline. You need a controller that can hit the up...

Re: Unsupported Video Signal for PS1 games on PS2?

I'm not really interested in hooking up older systems like the NES or Genesis to this. With HD retrovision cables, this thing is awesome for Genesis. The difference is night and day compared to just using composite thru the RetroTink. I don't have an SNES but I know they have HD retrovision cables ...

Re: Unsupported Video Signal for PS1 games on PS2?

Nice to know there's an option for improving picture clarity that, all things considered, doesn't cost as much as it could. I will keep it in mind. If anybody winds up picking up a RetroTink 2X, tell us about it here, aright! I do have one. Although I do not have a N64, I use it for the s-video out...

Re: Unsupported Video Signal for PS1 games on PS2?

So, trying to do my due diligence in reviewing Crash Bandicoot Trilogy for the Switch, I wanted to see how the old Crash games looked on my HDTV. So I plugged in my PS2 via component cable (normally I play my PS2 on a CRT) and after the Playstation logos appear I get the message "Unsupported V...

Re: HD Retrovision Component cables for retro consoles???

https://www.hdretrovision.com I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with these cables. I just found out about them this past weekend, but I guess they’ve been around for a couple years. They have component cables for SNES and Model 2 Genesis and then some adapters for Saturn, PS1 and Model 1 G...

Commando NES Freezing

I am on my second copy of Commando for the NES. It seems the game just randomly freezes? I have seen this behavior on both an original NES and a retro bit RES. If you wait long enough the game might unfreeze on the nes but not the res. Is this a know issue with this game?
