Re: Best Roguelikes?

Yeah, these are all roguelites, not actual roguelikes. Criminal that Spelunky has been mentioned two times and NetHack not even once.

Re: Books. Books? Books!

Currently trying to schlep my way through Jules Verne's "Journey to the Center of the Earth". The book isn't overly long, but it feels like more of a chore than a source of enjoyment right now. Which version are you reading? The public-domain Victorian translations of Verne (and most Fren...

Re: Street Fighter Movie

It feels bizarrely '70s for 1994. Compare it to Van Damme's other vehicle that year, Timecop – no masterpiece there, but that movie is The Matrix compared to this. A classic of crap.

I'm a little dismayed by the low scores, but I'm happy that these at least got reviewed. Fingers crossed for Rescue on Fractalus to go over better whenever you get to that one – I have a feeling that it's more in line with your tastes.

Re: Lightening Force (Genesis)

The fighter in that game doesn't really have wings. It must stay airborne by means of antigravity, some kind of lightening force.

The Lynx also gobbled batteries like candy, almost as much as the Game Gear.

Those chips got around. They're also in a lot of computers, including the TI/99 and the first generation of MSX machines.

Re: Limited Run Star Wars Games

I can't imagine that they're remakes. They don't have the resources for that, there's no reason for it anyway, and if it had been something they'd put that much effort into, they would have advertised it openly.
