Re: Introducing the Nintendo Switch

There's a difference between necessary prioritization and deliberately withholding features to milk the userbase - which, yes, is an immature and irrational understanding of why the Switch lacks DS support even though it has kinda sorta similar media.

Re: Your Favorite Video Game Soundtracks?

After knowing vaguely about it for years, I finally got curious enough to look up the arcade game Power Drift on YouTube, and... wow, that is some music! I think it's best heard in the game itself, because the sound effects disguise the crappy rhythm guitar samples and let the exuberant lead stand o...

Luigi & Peach wrote:Toe Jam & Earl 2 ( total guilty pleasure)

Why a guilty pleasure? It's not unique the way the first one is, but it's still a great game.

Re: Introducing the Nintendo Switch

God forgive Forbid! The phrase doesn't even make any sense with "forgive" there! (Sorry, but I figured that if you have a whole thread for fixing typos in your reviews, you can probably put up with this.) Oh, the console. It's certainly interesting; ever since the DS, they've been trying ...

Re: 2015/11/1: Sega CD: 3 Ninjas Kick Back, Flink

The review is factually wrong. It says things about the game that are provably false, which is baffling coming from such an otherwise reliable source.

Re: Most Worthless Console You have Ever Owned?

The 3DO is a great machine that was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and even as unlucky as it was, it still has some worthy games. The Need for Speed and Return Fire are pretty much the system's peak, being the best by far of the few games that actually pushed the 3D graphics ( Blade Force and...

Re: 2015/11/1: Sega CD: 3 Ninjas Kick Back, Flink

I wasn't registered when this review was posted, but I ran into it again and had to comment. It's clueless! What an insult to a fine, fine game. Yeah, it's slow, and the main character's a dweeb, but you missed the hugely important mechanic of throwing enemies (which is why a single jump only knocks...

Re: Top 5 Genesis Games

1. Earthworm Jim Perfect. Perfect! And it's absolutely a Genesis game first and foremost; the SNES version is slicker, but playing it quickly makes it clear that the levels were designed around 320-pixel visibility, not 256. 2. The Misadventures of Flink Impossibly beautiful, as is everything that H...

Re: Why wasn't Mario 64 a pack-in game?

I know that the PlayStation's launch forced Nintendo to significantly lower their system's price from what they had planned. Maybe they were going to include the game but had to leave it out to maintain profitability. Given that the only other launch title was Pilotwings 64 , N64 adopters were prett...
