Re: Nintendo lied about censorship with games.

I am not xenophobic and have nothing against Japan. I don't like JRPGs because I find their gameplay incredibly tedious. I don't like anime because it's mostly mass-produced, pandering crap, not because I hate it in itself – I'd be an idiot to call, say, Grave of the Fireflies anything but a masterp...

Re: Nintendo lied about censorship with games.

I'll be sure to avoid purchasing this game that I already couldn't be less interested in purchasing.

Re: 2019/10/16: Atari XEGS: Asteroids, Getaway!

Reminds me of a line from The Office: Michael Scott: Why don't you explain this to me like I am an eight-year old. Stalvern: Emulation is incredibly easy. Download the emulator, download the game, open the game in the emulator. Michael Michael: Why don't you explain this to me like I'm five :D . I ...

Re: 2019/10/16: Atari XEGS: Asteroids, Getaway!

*easy way to play it for someone not technically-inclined I can't even figure out how to burn a CD half the time. Emulation is incredibly easy. Download the emulator (and, in this case, OS files ), download the game, open the game in the emulator. Atarimania and a8.fandal.cz have all the 800/XL/XEG...

HG101. The podcasts and YouTube channel (reposts of the podcasts, mostly) are meh, but the articles on the site itself are peerless. They've released several books, too.

Retro STrife wrote:Getaway! really sounds like something special - thanks for reviewing it. Just watched a video of it too - looks way ahead of its time, especially for a homebrew. I wish there was an easy way to play it.

Flash cart, emulation.

Re: 2019/10/16: Atari XEGS: Asteroids, Getaway!

Typo (or possibly just an outright mistake) in the Getaway! review: "in of itself" instead of "in and of itself".

Re: Die Hard (NES)

Ignore a certain "Nerd" review this game is good. It was really hard-pressed to make the game look all that bad. Die Hard is very ambitious for an NES movie license, impressive even with a guy swearing at it between swigs of Rolling Rock. Not even on the same planet as all those LJN throw...

Re: Utada Hikaru music discussion

I dislike JRPGs, anime, and teenagers, so a JRPG about anime teenagers is pretty far off my radar.

Haven't played any of them, not particularly interested. I'll give the music a shot, though.
