The 8-bit Home Computer Users Thread

@Scotland. I can remember the Commodore 64 GS console launch with a few C64 cartridge games and a rather infamous example of shovelware (Batman - I think) in which the game asked you to press space and of course the console had no keyboard ! Not Commodore's finest hour. Would love to compare games i...

Let's Talk RCA Studio II
Oddly enough I have a handful of games for the Studio II -- mysterious heirlooms from my wife's late father, who was a programmer. They showed up in the family home out of nowhere, but we weren't able to find the console.
You haven't got the mysterious US version of Bingo h...

Let's Talk RCA Studio II

In the UK the RCA Studio II was released as the Academy Apollo. I've only ever seen one come up on eBay (although admittedly I've never been actively looking) and yes it was in colour ! This was released under various names and distributed by various companies throughout Europe (similar to the PC-50...

Boy I can't decide if I love or hate this series, VF2 is brutal! It's both frustrating and satisfying in equal measure. I feel like smashing the pad when fighting...

Do you miss classic video game music

I've recently been replaying Virtua Fighter 2 on the Saturn and humming along to the music on Akira's stage and thinking this is an awesome track. Then it came back to me level 2 Toki Atari ST, Robocop on ZX Spectrum, Magical Sound Shower on Out Run and countless other classics. Then it occurred to ...

Video Chess
Does the Studio II have any of the classics?
Haha the Studio II even messed up with it's obligatory Pong clone, the thought of it trying to play chess makes me shudder. Hell I think it would even struggle with 'Snap'.
