Re: Double Dragon 2600 vs 7800

The 7800 version is not as bad as people say. It's by no means as good as the Master System or NES versions but it's playable and has reasonably good graphics. A better soundtrack (more competent music) probably would've done wonders. The 2600 version is a disaster. I'd rate it as unplayable. Like m...

Re: 2019/1/23: Super Nintendo: Raiden Trad, ABC Monday Night Football

If anything you did me a favor! It's a lot more fun to review bad games, especially those with egregious issues! I can appreciate this kind of bad game! Well in that case, I look forward to your review of Konami's NFL Football on the SNES. We're talking Sega CD Montana football kind of playability ...

Re: 2019/1/11: Genesis: Arch Rivals, Wolverine: Adamantium Rage

There is no question that NBA Jam was influenced by Arch Rivals. The graphics of the arcade version are every bit as cheesy looking as the Genesis version (e.g. cartoon-like) but it was pretty playable.

Yeah if the label reads "Licensed by Nontendo" it's pretty good sign of a fake. :D

Re: C64 mini

Just be sure you got the newer 'North American' revision as it contains a number of improvements including better emulation and easier side-loading of games via USB stick. David Murray (The 8-bit Guy) on YouTube did a review of both the original and updated versions. Supposedly there is a version in...

Re: 2018/11/10: Nintendo Switch: Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Edition

I've played a perfect game of Night Trap! You get a much better ending that way. It's not too hard to do, but requires the kind of mapping and planning that's pretty much Kryptonite to the VGC's play style. :) Ditto. Back in the day my cousin and I got very proficient at not only finishing the game...

And the game you finally buy turns out to be the one you're playing! Trippy!

The Great Gianna Sisters on the C64 is a pretty good side-scroller. I like the Super Mario hack better though where the lead characters and some of the enemies are replaced with Mario and Luigi.

Re: New Atari Portable?

There is a new Atari Flashback 9 out that has 110 games built in. I don't recall seeing a new portable unit though. The only two I am aware of are the one with Frogger and the one with PacMan.
