Sega Saturn Unlocker Review

I have finally received my sega saturn unlocker, and while I haven't tested any games that require the RAM upgrades or the region unlock ability, I've tested it with burned games and it works great. Starts with a small options screen, hit play game with the A button and away you go. No modding, no o...

Re: Games that are perfect examples of great design?

Chrono Trigger. Seriously, it is designed incredibly well. I've been playing through a lot of my older RPGs lately and while they're all good, Chrono Trigger is paced fantastic, has fantastic art, story, bosses, etc. And I will also second portal 1+2... and to drop in a fighting game, while it isn't...

Re: Should I buy an original Game Boy?

I use my super gameboy to play gameboy games. It doesn't play gbc games, which is a bummer, but original gb games work fine.

Re: Has anyone actually ever repaired a game disc without resurfacing?

I use brasso on the connector pins on NES and SNES games, it works great for those, (though messy.) It does have a grittiness to it though, so I'm not sure how it would work on CDs.

Re: What to buy?

I've officially ordered the Saturn Unlocker, after my next paycheck I'm going to look for Shining force III scenarios 2+3. Very exciting!

Re: What to buy?

Yeah, I think it will be the Saturn unlocker, and I'm honestly rather tempted to buy Shining Force III translated trilogy as well. Would be right around 100 dollars altogether, and that seems like a good price to finish a game series that I've wanted to finish since I was a child. It will also allow...

Re: What to buy?

The genesis mini is a ways off, which would put the SNES mini as option 3. The thing with that is I own the majority of the games on there. Not that it would be a bad thing to play them in HD on a device that won't sometime lose save files, but the saturn unlocker is probably where I'm leaning. I've...

What to buy?

I'm planning on finally treating myself to a little something. Been working really hard and I need to reward myself. I haven't bought something for myself for a looooong time, so I'm really thinking about it here. Now, I have several options I'm looking at, and would like some feedback! 1) An HD com...

Re: Has anyone actually ever repaired a game disc without resurfacing?

I actually have a pretty nice 'disk doctor' type device with a crank thing and a bunch of other cleaning/resurfacing things. I was told way, way back in the day from someone at gamestop to never ever use those, but if people on here have had luck with them, I'm definitely going to give it a go. I ha...

Re: I hate listening to the news. Anyone else?

I'm a news junkie, have been since the Bush administration and the Iraq War fiasco. I worked in physical therapy on war vets, my cousin took a mortar in Iraq, I've volunteered on campaigns, etc. I only read enough to stay informed now. I don't watch news like I used to, I can't take it. It switches ...
