Re: Classic and Retro Gaming Headaches

I don't use my Retron 5 often, so while it hasn't crapped out on me yet I can tell that the build quality is "cheap". I'd say it doesn't surprise me it has broken for others. In regards to the Dreamcast the disc drive seems to be the first thing to die. I've had two Dreamcast's eat it, bot...

Re: Classic and Retro Gaming Headaches

That is definitely a bummer. Just to provide a possible "plan b" option, systems like the Retron 5 allow you to back-up your saves off the cart to the system and do save states directly to the system itself instead of saving to the cart. Being able to save to the systems SD card would get ...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Boom or Bust?

The thing is, even if I can sympathize with the reason it has to be $300 that doesn't make that price any more appealing. If I open a sandwich shop and charge $15 a sandwich because I can't get a good relationship with suppliers as a new business, does my reason the sandwich is $15 matter? No, peop...

Re: Nintendo Switch: Boom or Bust?

Boom. (I gotta play devil's advocate here) Guys. Don't buy into all the negativity. Think back to when the Nintendo Wii was announced and how folks discredited it from the get go. I can remember all the articles announcing it could never compete with the PS3 and Xbox 360. Somehow the system that did...

Love reading your wrestling game reviews Rockofhysteria! Keep 'em coming!

Would love to read your review of WWF King of the Ring, and maybe some of the odd-ball titles like Tag-team Wrestling and M.U.S.C.L.E. on the NES. Thumbs up!

Re: Wizard of Wor question

I've enjoyed the Atari 8-bit computer version for 30 years or so. Published by Roklan, cartridge format, pretty faithful to the original. Yes. The Atari 8-bit/XE line of computers is the way to go! I got a copy about 2 weeks ago and it's getting some serious gameplay. I'm a huge fan of the Atari 26...

Re: Best N64 games?

I had an N64 back in the day. I made the classic choice of trading it off to get into the Sega Dreamcast when it came out. Now many years later I picked up another N64 and some games to play with my son. Some of the current favorites include: WCW / NWO Revenge Donkey Kong 64 Mario Kart 64 Super Smas...

Re: Top 5 Game Boy Advance Games

Since the Nintendo franchise games such as Mario/Wario/DK, etc are going to dominate any top 5 list for the GBA, how about listing the Top 5 Non-Nintendo games? Particularly the "hidden gems" that weren't big sellers and are not going to be familiar to many players... I'm going to agree t...

Re: What are your top ten favorite GAMES of all time???

It's going to be hard to choose just ten, so I went chose ten of my personal favorites that I've sunk the most time into playing: Joust (Atari 7800) Dragon Force (Sega Saturn) Tecmo Super Bowl (NES) Legend of The Red Dragon (BBS) Alien Brigade (Atari 7800) Superfly (Atari ST) Phantasy Star IV (Sega ...
