Re: Why do people like RPGs?

RPGs have more depth, but better graphics. Non-RPGs have less depth, but better graphics. So it's a matter of what your preference is.

Voor, you may want to try other RPGs to better understand their appeal. They are much more varied than you are making them out to be.

Re: Metroid Prime?

If I recall correctly I loved Metroid Prime until the upteenth time I had to backtrack. At that point, I hit the wall...and say, "No thank you." I loved it until then and my God there was a lot of backtracking in that game. Good luck! Your point is valid. The series is build around going ...

Re: Metroid Prime?

If you have not played the 2D games beforehand, some of what makes Prime special is probably going to be lost on you.

Re: A question for those of you who successfully camped out for an NES Classic

So they are still selling them? I thought they were done. Anyway, my only advice would be to not give Nintendo the pleasure of seeing you put all this work into buying their low quantity items. I've had enough of them. What they are doing may not be illegal, but it is surely unethical.

Re: Metroid Prime?

A few years ago I played through EVERY Metroid game back to back, with pretty much 100% completion on each. Metroid Prime 1 is probably the best example of a 2D game turned 3D. The whole "lonely" feel of the 2D games is captured perfectly in a new 3D world. Things that stick out are the mu...

Re: Should nintendo drop the gimmicks?

Hi everyone, I think we are all skirting around the real issue here. Nintendo is putting out consoles that are lower specs than their competitors. I remember back in the 16-bit days when graphical horsepower was the rallying cry for Nintendo fans. They were right. The SNES was, in most categories, b...

Re: Youtubers and The Price of Video Games

What I hate most is when Youtubers do a top 10 rare list, or something to that effect. They bring attention to things that are already rare, causing the prices to go through the roof. I think this is irresponsible. When something is rare, people's instincts are to gobble it up as fast as possible. I...

Re: Independence Day games

The most 4th of July game for me is Fantavision. It's already been reviewed though, and the game is quite tiresome.

Re: What are the most overrated and underrated consoles???

I no longer see any consoles as overrated or underrated within retro circles (such as the people who browse this site). We all know more about the consoles more so than we did say five years ago. As for the general public, I'd say NES and SNES or overrated, while ALL non-Genesis Sega consoles are un...
