2012/9/14: Special Previews: Atari Flashback 4, Genesis Classic Console, Genesis Ultimate Portable Player

Genesis Classic Console. Finally got the cartridge with SD game support. Handy item. Also noted one nice thing. The old Genesis power supply would heat up quickly were as the Genesis Classic Console power supply stays very cool to the touch. That is progress.

New ZX Spectrum to be released April

Not a computer I am familiar with but I do hope it sells well and others take notice. Strong interest made lead to someone releasing a Commodore 64 flashback.

When did video games go mainstream?

PinMike8666 makes some very good points. Arcades are when it seemed to go mainstream. It was cheaper to plunk a quarter in a machine then spring for a console.

Now it just seems mainstream but when I was growing up my parents made televisions and other electrical devices last decades not...

Why has there been no crash like in 1983

BanjoPickles hit it smack down the middle. I still recall going into Best Buy and seeing 3DO, 32X and CD-I being slashed to low low prices. Same thing happened in 1984 and 1985. There was such a glut of systems and games.

Also looking at the 1990's it was the cool thing to ...

Pac-Man Color Edition (Game Boy Color)

Both the Super Game Boy and Game Boy Player seem great for being able to play old Game Boy and Game Boy Color games. If you could only one, which would be the better choice?

Outages and Offline Gaming

Wonder if any of this has changed minds about digital only downloads over physical copies? But if you buy a physical copy and then are unable to play later because of needing on-line support then what difference does it make.

Is this all three console makers doing these types of thin...

Games You're Looking Forward to in 2015

I have not heard anything but with the new Jurassic Park or World movie coming out; hoping a good game will follow.

Minecraft (PS4)

I say give it a grade. It does have zombie like creatures at night. That should count right?

Minecraft (PS4)

I have watched it played a few times. The game seems to require an IMAGINATION. Mine was used up as a kid playing on the Atari 2600. The 2600 games were great but some took real imagination. Adventure and Night Driver come to mind.<img title="Rofl -" src="/images/boards/smilies/rofl....
