Getting an NES soon, suggestions for games?!

Here is a recent thread on another fellow gamer asking for NES suggestions:
http://dmrozek.websitetoolbox.com/post/must-have-games-for-the-nes-7159528

I noticed that this will be your first Nintend...

Its unfair not to have all the Sega Genesis games in one section

I think you hear the sound of my king tipping over.

I accept that having a separate processor which assists in actual processing is enough of a distinction to warrant being considered a separate library. Darn. I will not hold that 1541 trivia against you. I salute...

Its unfair not to have all the Sega Genesis games in one section
scotland17, I don't think any of your examples add an additional, more powerful CPU to the system, though. That's really what differentiates the Sega CD, in my mind -- it has its own brain.

Anyway, who really cares about making SNES fanboy types acknowledge the value of ...

Its unfair not to have all the Sega Genesis games in one section

It should be remembered that the Sega CD and the base unit Genesis co existed for several years. This is not a generational overlap, but genuine co existence. The first Lunar is a 1992 game, meaning Game Arts had to choose to go CD. Thus the Genesis library got spread over the two media at its peak,...

Its unfair not to have all the Sega Genesis games in one section

One of the complaints about the Sega Genesis (in conversations compared to the SNES) is the lack of RPGs. Yet, when I look at the Sega CD library, I see several RPGs of note, such as Lunar The Silver Star, Lunar Eternal Blue, Shining Force CD, Vay, and Dark Wizard (and maybe Popful Mail). <...

The Twisted Farce that is the Evolution of 2d
I also don't think you can use demo scene games as 'evidence'. ...the fact of the matter remained that main stream development teams didn't have the resources, talent, time or knowledge to get the ST performing at that level for commercial releases. The same applies to the Jag's Native de...

Seaman game coming to the 3DS???

The narrator for the game, Leonard Nimoy, passed away. The actor also played an obscure 1960s space alien on a Desilu tv show, which would occasionally be depicted in a few video games as well. The last news about Nintendo was about a year and a half ago with some patent filings that sounded like se...

How your gaming changes over the years
There's also the issue that my parents never liked that I played video games.
I wonder if some parental disapproval is not an uncommon event for people on the forums. That's something that changes over time...maybe one day you'll be a p...

How your gaming changes over the years
When I was a kid with my SNES, I had absolutely no way to research games before buying them , so my game buying consisted of three things: did the cover look cool, could I afford it with my $5 allowance, and would my parents let me play it.
I can sympathize, alt...
