Re: C64 mini

I am planning on ordering one, but I don't have one yet.

I hear that its VICE emulation, so thats pretty good - but you can just run that on a PC too without dropping the money here.

I don't understand the AC adapter thing unless its a comment on the original adapter bricks.

Re: 2018/10/7: Atari 2600: Sneak n' Peek, Spider-Man

There are similarities of Spider-Man to Crazy Climber, but bringing home arcade fun was Atari at its best. I think this is 8-16k game, written in Assembly. Spider-Man is a great fit for a vertical game (Batman would have worked too) AIn contrast to todays video game culture, Parker Bros was apparent...

Re: 2018/10/7: Atari 2600: Sneak n' Peek, Spider-Man

Glad you enjoyed Spider-Man. This was a fairly hyped game in its time, with Stan Lee doing a feature in Blip, and these print ads. http://www.atari.io/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/blog_7800_avenue_spiderman_4.jpg A thought is to replace Green Goblin on his 'sled' with 'glider'. The game is also remini...

Re: PC games that never got a proper console port?

While I kept the games, I never kept older Microsoft Windows computers. By the time they were replaced, they were running sluggishly. Now I use DosBox and GOG alot for these games. One game I enjoyed on PC was Mechwarrior II. It was ported to console, but to digital controllers. The game benefited a...

Re: Jumpstart Computer Games?

I may predate commercial educational programs. We began learning BASIC, and went from 'Hello World' to typing in programs to make scrolling text or solve lunar landing velocities. I began on a TRS 80 model 1

Re: All the best...

Sorry to see you go. Twenty years. Wow. Has your interest in video games in general waned, or just interedt in this site? The forums have gotten slower. Dave has kept up his pace on reviews, but conversations elsewhere are fewer or shorter. Some of that has been the drop in fanboy/girl behavior, som...

The size limit on directly uploading photos is pretty small. I often have to shrink and compress photos to get them under the limit.
