Re: Will next Xbox support physical media?

I don't think Microsoft will risk alienating consumers again with the digital licensing model they proposed for the original Xbox One design, the PR backlash to which has cost them millions in lost console sales as users flocked to the PS4. Instead, I think Microsoft will do what any smart business ...

Re: PS Vita is mostly no more.

Glad I got one of the Japanese slim models while they were still cheap. Prices for consoles are already climbing and games are following. There ARE in fact many, many excellent titles on the Vita but few excellent exclusives. The only absolute, must-own exclusive for PS Vita is, in my opinion, Perso...

Re: Hollow Knight - Can we convince VGC to download a game?

So I just logged into my router and there are two channels - 2.4 and 5 Ghz. I usually use the first one. Maybe I should start using the second to see what happens! Just be forewarned, if you switch to 5Ghz exclusively it will knock off some devices that can't support that frequency such as the Wii,...

Re: EULAs ruining games

The sad part is, nobody can really tell you because nobody has the time to read and parse of all that legalese. Ha, fair enough! I hope I don't seem like a contrarian here. Debate is in my handle for a reason, I suppose. Admittedly I have seen EULAs on PC software for some time, but they never affe...

And just as an addendum to that, I want to emphasize that I'm not claiming to know more about tech than you - I know that is your industry and expertise - but just wanted to share my experience after having similar issues with a low-quality router and lack of signal strength.

Re: Hollow Knight - Can we convince VGC to download a game?

Well my TV and computers (wired and wireless) seem to work fine. But when I try another wireless device it seems slow and erratic. Might have sometime to do with the fact that I have my own router. All my equipment is up to date. Probably some kind of configuration issue, but dealing with Comcast c...

Re: Hollow Knight - Can we convince VGC to download a game?

Well I started the process tonight and didn't get very far. It took me three tries to download the necessary system update. When I started getting weird errors linking my account I gave up... for now. I think my lousy internet (Comcast Xfinity) has played a key role in my aversion to online gaming....

Re: The 55 dollar question...

Well, ended-up getting a Raspberry Pi with a case. Installed the Raspbian OS on one micro SD card, and RetroPie on another. I'm sure you could install both on one card and choose which one to boot to, but I like the separation of "business" and "fun." Runs fine, neat little comp...

Re: EULAs ruining games

What's in these EULAs you've seen? Does the game really force you to page through the entirety of the text before you agree or is that your choice to page through it all out of interest in the contents? I play quite a few modern games and I've never had to do this so I'm a little skeptical that this...
