Re: Star Wars Battlefront (PS4)

While watching one of the cut-scenes I noticed one of the snowtroopers had a woman's voice. Political correctness strikes again...? [rolling eyes] Wait...what? I don't get what a female trooper has to do with political correctness. Star Wars Episode VII has female soldiers and generals on both side...

I agree with it wholeheartedly. It's still a good game, but it's hard not to see the lost potential with the omissions. B- is a fair grade.

Re: So I'm not sure if my PS3 is dying

I almost think there would be a good market for a new SKU of backwards compatible Ps3s. There are still plenty of Ps2 games you can't play anywhere else.

Oh wait, that would mean that they'd have a hard time reselling us Ps2 games digitally on Ps4 :P

Re: I never realised how great the Final Fantasy series is !

Go to 5. The After Years is best appreciated as a bonus, when you look back fondly on the 4th. There's also a playable interlude between the 4th and the After Years, if you play the PSP version. The overall package is recommended over the DS, as the original game was 2d, and this is essentially wha...

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake News

David, Square Enix has made missteps lately to be sure, but they did back then too (see FFII NES). They've always been dividing their fan base by aggressively evolving the series. Sometimes it works out and produces something brilliant (FFX, Vagrant Story), and sometimes it causes derision (Dirge of...

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake News

Point of clarification: Final Fantasy VII Remake is not being released episodically. It is being remade as a multi-part series of full games . Basically, they are taking FF7 and remaking each and every part of it to a lifelike scale and opening it up to exploration. This means more content and a lar...

Re: I never realised how great the Final Fantasy series is !

Just recently finished up Final Fantasy IV (yes it really has taken me this long!). Very enjoyable game, interesting story and I really like how the game keeps mixing your party up. My only criticism, which might be my own RPG lack of prowess is the bosses. I managed to play through the game fairly...

Re: When did console gaming jump the shark?

Scotland's post doesn't make much sense to me, but perhaps that's because I never liked arcades to begin with. I prefer a long-form, single-player experience to a repetitive and iterative one. My post was about seeing the earlier 3rd and 4th generation as a frontier of experimenting more with diffe...

Re: When did console gaming jump the shark?

I don't understand all the weirdness about 3D. Maybe it's an age thing. I love great 2D games and I love great 3D games. Great games are great games. Scotland's post doesn't make much sense to me, but perhaps that's because I never liked arcades to begin with. I prefer a long-form, single-player exp...

Re: When did console gaming jump the shark?

People love their Dreamcast, SNES, Genesis, NES, and Atari 2600 systems. How many gamers can say the same of their PS2, GameCubes, Xbox 360s, Wiis, or PS4s? I don't care much for hardware, but the PS2's software library just kills it for me. The Dreamcast had very consistent quality, but in my opin...
