Re: Black Friday deals..

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas HD for the Xbox 360 caught my eye for $8 at Wal-Mart, primarily since I hadn't even realized that this recent download had gotten a retail release until I saw it in the ad. I also was surprised to see the first three GTA releases on the PS2 advertised in Wal-Mart's ad. ...

Re: Nintendo Direct and the "new" Nintendo focus

I just wish they had released a 3Ds Player for the Wii U. I guess Virtual Console ruined that. While I'm afraid that it played out just like I had expected, I too wished for such a thing. That said, only DS games are present though on the Wii U eShop, so there would still be a sound business reason...

Re: Xbox One backwards compatiility

I don't think that you can get it through your Xbox One. Maybe because it's a download code, but currently, you can only make backwards compatible purchases or acquire the monthly freebies via your PC or an Xbox 360. Only once it's in your download history will it then show up as downloadable on you...

Re: Xbox One backwards compatiility

I would definitely say that it's a partial port, since that's exactly what's going on with CPU tasks. That code has been converted from PowerPC 360 code to X86 based XB1 instructions that the system is capable of directly running. To me at least, that's the very definition of porting. But since the ...

Re: Xbox One backwards compatiility

It seems like a really cool feature and win for Microsoft but from what I've read so far a lot of the games don't perform as well as they did on the 360. Reminds me of the 360's emulation of the Xbox which was a big feature but I personally thought it sucked because the games never ran as well as t...

Re: Worst Nintendo holiday lineup and pricing ever?

It's like Nintendo isn't putting any effort into these games and assigns a very small group of people to make them just so the Wii U has some games coming out. I'm afraid so. It has been clear for quite sometime that nearly all their focus has been placed on next-gen development to make sure that t...

Re: Red Dead Redemption

With all the call for RDR and Microsoft hinting that Rockstar is the holdup rather than teething issues with backwards compatibility, I think its absence in the first round is a possibly promising sign that it's perhaps slated for a GTA V style remastering as a prelude to a full fledged sequel. If s...

Re: Worst Nintendo holiday lineup and pricing ever?

And I doubt some reviewers want to create a stir by low balling a little known digital game for Wii U. Fatal Frame has a very dedicated fanbase. That's why the amount of discussion that it receives is so out of proportion with its level of commercial success. Not difficult to think that some outlet...

Re: Nintendo Direct and the "new" Nintendo focus

These fan projects, while impressive in their own right, don't stay faithful to the original intentions. This is a remastering, not a remake. All it needs is to be rendered in HD, for the textures to be uncompressed (Supposedly, they were created at a much higher resolution originally and then downs...

Re: Nintendo Direct and the "new" Nintendo focus

I think the graphical overhaul will be a bit more significant than some think it will be. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSjP7qxsSzk Sadly the art style isn't as timeless as Wind Waker, a game that still doesn't look like it originally appeared in 2003. So the best that Nintendo can pretty much hop...
