Re: Baseball in Decline?

The answer is this: people do watch and enjoy baseball in all its glory WHEN THE GAMES MATTER. Lots of people tuned into the World Series, which had a compelling matchup and great games. I’m one of those that says the games feel too long, but I’ll gladly watch a 4 hour game when something is on the...

Re: 2018/4/3: Arcadia 2001: Parashooter, Golf

Great to see more reviews for a pre-crash console like the Arcadia! I was wondering why I hadn't heard of these games, but then I realized they weren't released in North America -- is that correct? Or, at least, this rarity list seems to think so: http://www4.ncsu.edu/~awwatkin/ATARI/LISTS/arcadia.h...

Re: 2018/4/1: Playstation 4: Distracted Driver

Does anyone know when the 3DO port of Distracted Driver is coming out? I hear it's a real upgrade over the CD-i version, which had the animations done overseas and suffered as a result. Awfully nice of them to support these older consoles.

Re: Games the VGC Didn't Review (Yet), for Systems Nearing Completion

Is Dragon's Curse worth it? Worth playing, or worth buying? I'm the wrong person to ask about the latter since I do almost all my TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine gaming via flash cart, and I don't really know the game firsthand as a player. But if you loved Wonder Boy III on the SMS (as I see you did), the...

Re: Games the VGC Didn't Review (Yet), for Systems Nearing Completion

Inspired by the recent TurboGrafx-16 reviews, I added the remaining games (US releases only) to the first post. As of this writing there are 47 unreviewed games left in the US library. Some aren't unexpected -- like SimEarth, Might & Magic III, or the Sherlock Holmes games -- but it's more surpr...

"Your guy is a dead ringer for Chuck Norris and I love that spiffy blue uniform."

Heh, he reminds me much more of Bobby Hill from King of the Hill.

Re: 2018/3/9: Atari 2600: Chuck Norris Superkicks

Even though I'm no fan of Chuck Norris I've always liked this game a lot, ever since I had it as a kid on a double-ender with Artillery Duel (which I also enjoy). I don't remember whether I actually beat Superkicks back in the day, but I played through it a few months ago and had a blast. It really ...

Re: Sneak 'n Peak (Atari 2600)

I kinda like Sneak 'n Peek. It's definitely made for multiplayer, as the 1P mode is pointless but the 2P mode can be fun. I love the hilariously out-of-tune music (thanks to the limitations of the Atari's TIA), but am not so keen on the finickiness of the entry points to the hiding places. I certain...
