Day/Night Cycles?

Do you like your games to cycle from day to night? I've been playing Dragon's Dogma, and I actually find them kind of annoying. The nights last so long, you can barely see, and the monsters get a lot tougher- especially to my low level character. And you can only skip them if you're in a town and fi...

Things only a gamer can take seriously?

What are some things that we, as gamers, love, but other people would laugh at? Here's mine:
Mickey Mouse fights like Yoda with a white and gold key-sword as tall as he is.

Re: One Sentence N64 Reviews

I don't play a lot of N64 games, so here's the only one I've got:
"A classic, sometimes called the greatest game ever made, but while it has aged very well for the most part the controls are rather stiff and frustrating in certain areas."

So yeah... try and guess.

Re: Steam Machines?

I keep hearing about how PC games run and look better than console games. I'd be willing to try one out just to see if that's true, since I don't have a high end computer. I wouldn't buy one unless I was so impressed that I could see value in owning it. But even then, I think I'd rather have a PS4.

Re: 2015/6/4: Wii U: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

Personally, I love RPGs, especially JRPGs, because they can tell a story that goes beyond "You are good guy, him am bad guy, fight fight FIGHT!!!". RPGs are able to incorporate the slower aspects of a story, like interacting with people that aren't enemies, traveling between locations, and...

Steam Machines?

I saw one of those new Steam consoles in Walmart a few weeks ago. Basically, it lets you download games from Steam directly onto the machine, and then lets you play them on your TV like a normal console. I looked up a few reviews for it (can't remember what it was called, though), and they seemed pr...

Actually, leveling up in RPGs is often completely necessary, because you'll be underpowered later om in the game and unable to take down the stronger bosses.

Re: 2015/6/4: Wii U: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

Ooh, Critic... you might be getting some backlash for this one. I've played a couple of the MH games, and I definitely get their appeal even if they're not for me. I've never played 3 Ultimate, but from the ones I've played, I think you may have been playing with the wrong mindset. This isn't God of...

Re: Anybody played Splatoon for the Wii U?

I haven't played it, but I've watched a few gameplay videos and reviews of it. I see lots of people calling it the most unique shooter in years, but I just found that it reminded me a lot of Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare. I'm sure they play completely differently, but watching one just makes me ...
