Re: Yooka-Laylee - A 3D Platformer Rare-vival!

But 3D platformers have been pretty much dead for years. 2D platformers have been flourishing and outnumber 3d platformers nowadays. We could use a new IP. And it's influenced by Rare's N64 games, particularly Banjo-Kazooie. Plus, it's made by former Rare devs who worked for the company during its g...

Re: Killer Instinct (Xbox One) has pulled a fighting skeptic into the rabbit hole

Have you never played Super Smash Bros.? Doesn't that series epitomize the "easy to learn, hard to master" fun that everyone from casual to hardcore fans can get into? Anyways, I'm glad to see that Microsoft is making quite the turnaround and fixing a lot of mistakes they made in the begin...

Is this Steer? I hope this is Steer. Please be Steer! You're due for a good unbanning.

Anyway, looking at that list, I'm sad to see companies like Hudson, Midway, and THQ gone. It's also sad to see formerly great companies like Capcom and Sega in the sorry state they're in.

How about Spyro Orange? That game was really fun, even if I prefer the PS1 games. I never played Crash Purple, though.

Re: NFL Blitz (N64)

Yeah, this game is good times. And I don't even like football games, or real football, for that matter. But this game was just crazy enough to be fun. The "spiritual successor," Blitz The League and it's sequel were pretty fun, especially the gruesome injuries, but this game still trumps t...

Re: Why did the NES do so well in the US

@Scotland- There was also Duck Hunt, Ice Climber, Excitebike, Hogan's Alley, Wild Gunman, Pinball, etc. In fact, with 18 games, yeah, there were some duds (Donkey Kong Jr. Math), but there was bound to be something for the gamer to love right from the launch. Here's a great article from one of my fa...

Re: Best isometrized / 2D-ized versions of 3D games?

Honestly, I think for most movie licensed games released during the 6th generation, the GBA versions were superior to the console versions. The console games were often standard, generic licensed game fare, while the "inferior" GBA ports were often fun throwbacks to the 16 Bit Era, with a ...

Re: New Forums Open for Business!

One unfortunate thing I've noticed is that with some of the older threads, some of the posts seem to be deleted. Like, in the N64 vs. Ps1 thread, the first post is N64Dude's. Yet, I know for a fact that I created that topic and that several people posted before him. I also noticed that the GameCube ...

Re: Video Game Narrative

To answer Scotland's question, my all time favorite game story would have to be... Custer's Revenge! I kid, I kid, it's actually Pong. Okay, being serious now, I probably have to go with Majora's Mask, because it was the complete package. You had the dark, depressing atmosphere, with t...
