Re: 2020/1/18: Colecovision: Evolution, Antarctic Adventure

That Evolution games sounds like it could have been a real winner, had they put a little more time and effort into it. I've always enjoyed games that were broken up into a series of 'mini-games', like Aztec or Beach Head or Raid over Moscow. But I guess there's only so much you can do with 8kb of me...

Re: NFL Football

Titans over Ravens, man oh man is Dereck Henry a beast. He’s like 10’7 and weighs over 520 pounds (6’4”, 248). He and his O-Line are in synch; Henry had a full head of steam by the time he got to the line of scrimmage untouched. Big, fast, and patient runner. Totally agree - even with him having th...

Re: Console Designs: PS5 Vs. Xbox Series X

It downloads the entire game from the internet and the disc is only used as a verification that you actually own it. Each game has been recompiled to run on Xbox One hardware. There’s no hardware based backwards compatibility, or even emulation based backwards compatibility. I guess this is what I ...

Re: Console Designs: PS5 Vs. Xbox Series X

Xbox conversely will be back compatable with everything, entire library from 2002 to now. That is...... awesome..... I see this bandied about quite a bit, about modern systems having 'backward compatibility' - is it TRUE backward compatibility... i.e., can I take my original Xbox game disk, but it ...

Re: Goodbye, Neil Peart.

AMEN! I'm proud to say I've seen Rush in concert three times, most recently on their "Time Machine" tour when they came through Baltimore in April of 2011. Most definitely my favorite band of all time!

Re: Ogre Battle (SNES)

With all this talk of Final Fantasy Tactics, I started perusing Ebay for used copies and I noticed two things: 1) The green-labeled "Greatest Hits" version of the game are all on the cheaper end of the spectrum, while the "Black Label" copies all tend to cost more. Is there any a...

Re: NFL Football

The Patriots finally lost an AFC playoff game, it has happened! What a crazy, crazy, crazy Saturday of playoff football. That Bills-Texans game was the best bad playoff game I've seen in years, Shoulda saved their sideline-filming stunt for the playoffs instead of getting pinched doing it against t...

Re: Unpopular Gaming Opinions

" Wii Sports is just a tech demo ". I remember playing Wii sports back when the Wii was new and everyone was gushing about the motion controls. The pack-in, which from what I remember consisted of a bowling game, a golf game, a boxing game, and a (3-inning) baseball game, is held up as one...

Re: Earthbound (SNES) retrospective

My kids were HUGE fans of Earthbound back in when they were little, and I was lucky enough to score an original SNES cart for less than $100. I think my oldest son played through it at least 5 or 6 times, and I remember thinking that one day I should sit down and give it a play-through myself. That ...
