Re: Looking for a middle person based in the U.S

I'd actually be happy to help you out if I were in the mainland, I live in Hawaii and I know all too well the "prejudice" we face being so far away for shipping purposes. LOTS of times I want to purchase something off Amazon (never mind Ebay) only to find that they won't ship said item(s) ...

Timber - Midway - 1984

A while ago I took an old Xbox and replaced the hard drive with one that I could load CoinOps 7 Massive, an all-in-one emulator/game package of old skool stuff. From time to time I have it select a random game for me and give it a try. Today it selected "Timber", which apparently is some k...

Crush, Crumble, and Chomp review - long version

As I tend to be a bit more verbose in my reviews than works for the Critic's general style, I tend to start out doing a longer version of a review than ends up being put in the official review section. Here is the long version of the same review, in case anyone cares: " When summertime rolls ar...

Re: 2019/7/16: Commodore 64: Crush, Crumble, and Chomp!

It looks well worth a play, if I can source it from somewhere. How come it's got a 1981 release date on a system that launched in '82? Or am I being picky? Not picky at all - the game was originally released in 1981, on the TRS-80, Apple II, VIC-20, and Atari 8-bit systems. The C64 port was indeed ...

Re: Stadia FAQ

From the company’s perspective, why do they want control over the games? What’s the difference (to them) whether you spend $250 a year on physical games or $250 a year on a streaming service? Don't forget about the resale market - companies have been trying to figure out a way for YEARS to figure o...

Re: Platoon (NES)

As the esteemed C64 Critic, you sir have an OBLIGATION to review this game! That game isn't there for a staring contest! DO IT!! Since you can't foist bad games on me in person these days you're going to do it virtually? There's no escape! And I'm pretty sure I do have Aliens around here, somewhere...

Oh crap, I have this game sitting on my shelf here - do I dare line it up for a review? I cringe at the thought now!

Re: Games that are perfect examples of great design?

Unreal Tournament (Original 1999 version for PC) - Pretty much every element of the game is perfect. Great level design in all of its game modes. All the weapons are fantastic. The game has a great look. The techno music is fantastic. The single player mode is great with the best bots ever in a FPS...

Re: Rocket League - Radical Summer

Scott - I have you to thank for originally buying me this one! I've turned so many people onto it. And since it has a variety of arenas and variations, the game is actually seasonally-correct year round! Good times I may consider it my single biggest contribution to the VGC canon and website; this ...
