Re: 2015/8/1: Commodore 64: Kickman

Here's a new C64 review for you guys to chew on. I'm disappointed it hasn't aged well. I remember being fascinated with it back in the day. Did C64 games actually support paddle controllers? Not only do C64 games support the paddle controller, Commodore actually produced paddles of their own: http:...

Re: Remembering the Xbox

Let us know how things turn out! The first phase of the experiment is over! I put UnleashX on the Xbox as a dashboard and installed Coinops 7 Lite, which is essentially a MAME emulator preloaded with ~700 games from both home systems and coin-op standup games. I had to delete a few to make it fit o...

Re: Early Piracy Theory - Okay to Copy but not Disseminate

I have actually seen manuals for some C64 games (I'm sure other systems had these too) where the publisher actually tells you in the instructions to make yourself a copy of the game you just purchased, and use the copy instead of the original. I can't imagine that sort of thing happening today.

Just Cause 2 - Steam

I actually started playing this game at the end of last summer, took a long hiatus from it, and have started playing it again as of a few weeks ago. This game it one of the best summer games I've played in a long time. It takes place over the vast expanse of a fictional island nation called Panau an...

Re: Modern Gaming Headaches

This is one of the main reasons I'm completely sitting out the current generation of consoles. They give you systems with 250GB or 500GB drives, but because they offload so much information from the internet and the disks they fill up amazingly quickly. If they would get serious and sell them with 2...

Re: Are there people out here who hate Steam reviews?

I have to admit, I don't read the reviews all that much on Steam but I have found some pretty good ones there. I guess it's like anything that gives you user reviews, you have to be able to quickly separate the wheat from the chaff. I look for reviews that give pros and cons, and I make liberal use ...

Re: 2015/5/5: Commodore 64: Agent USA

Nice review! My brothers and I used to really enjoy this game. I remember even watching my agent after turning into a fuzzbody. It was interesting to see which cities he would travel to randomly. Or maybe it was that there was some way he could be turned back again? ...I don't remember. I guess I h...

Gofundme effort for original Infocom writers

Not sure if anyone else has posted this, but one of the original writers for Infocom has a Gofundme effort underway to help defray the cost of cancer related medical bills - Michael Berlyn. We can forgive him for Bubsy 3D hopefully, and remember instead the awesome narrative spun by Zork, Suspended,...
