Re: Do we need a third competitor?

And look where THAT went! I wish I could argue with you but yeah, if a die-hard STEAM fan like myself didn't see the point in getting a Steam console it's no surprising that it didn't take off. I suppose there's still a slim chance they can turn things around, but it's looking more and more like a ...

It really does feel like a 'throwback' game. You can just have a buddy over, pick up a controller, and have them playing proficiently in about 2 minutes. Quick gameplay, simple controls, split screens, it's like the way video games used to be! I also like that you can play online pretty easily as we...

Re: 2017/2/10: Playstation 4: Steep

I've played Steep. Taking the "Online requirement" completely out of the equation, the game itself just didn't seem any fun to me. It has decent graphics, but I expect a downhill skiing/snowboarding/flying game to give me an adrenaline boost and there was nothing like that with this game. ...

DYE (Steam game)

If you love old-school platformers and upbeat, fun sountracks you will probably enjoy this game. I love the music, the look, and the general feel of this game. I havent' played for too long yet, because my thumb has started hurting already from the constant button-mashing required but I've liked wha...

Re: Best Buy Blues

So, is it that people are unwilling to pay because of lousy service - or is it lousy service because of people unwilling to pay? There's a lot of overhead involved with running a brick & mortar, far, far more than you might expect. You're paying for the building and land, taxes on the property,...

Re: 2017/2/10: Playstation 4: Steep

It's total bull that even console games require online connectivity for single player play. At least keep that stuff confined to PC gaming where it belongs. As a PC gamer I take issue with that statement! There's NO reason for ANY game with a 1P mode/component to require a constant, continuous conn...

Re: Christmas Morning Horror Stories

Count me (or rather my brother) in with those who opened an Xbox One on Christmas morning yet were unable to actually play it until well into the evening. My brother bought one for his kids with Skylander, unaware of all the initial setup time requirements. After them excitedly opening it Christmas ...

Re: should i buy the xbox one ?

Based on my experience with the Xbox One over at the Critic''s house, I would advise against buying one even if you have a fully functioning broadband connection... I suspect it would be completely unusable with a dial-up connection.

Re: Gears of War 4 headaches

Since patches are not going away, what can be done? For instance, should games be released in sections, like a Telltale game? Should developers open games up for large scale 'early access' to the biggest users of the previous iteration for a few weeks? I do like how many Steam games do exactly that...

Re: Gears of War 4 headaches

Unless you were in Japan, I believe you mean 1985 or 1986. In 1983, you were playing something cool like a Coleco, Inty, or Atari. Or your C64. :) You got me Atarifever, I meant 1985. It was so long ago I couldn't remember when it was released, so I checked Wikipedia and got snookered into putting ...
