Re: Retro VGS Console

Though it does sound like an excellent idea to my retro-gaming self, this kinda sounds like another Ouya situation to me. Only time will tell if its games are worth playing and not just a curiosity.

Did anyone else play the Splatoon demo sessions?

Though I definitely wish Nintendo made a more readily available demo for Splatoon, I do find it quite fun and see potential in it as a competitve shooter. To anyone who got the chance to play it, why not talk about what we liked and didn't like in our first impressions of it? I liked: -The creativit...

Re: 2015/5/9: Atari 5200: Mario Bros., Realsports Soccer, Realsports Tennis

There's also an NES version of Mario Bros (obviously not to be confused with Super Mario Bros), which I imagine would be the best version as well as the best looking.

Re: Reproduction carts?

This is just asking the question as to whether the VGC would be open to reviewing reproduction carts, considering they'd expand the possibilities of what he could cover, but admittedly you do have a point that a flash cart is more cost-effective. Also, I think you mean Nintendo World Championships. ...

Re: Reproduction carts?

To clarify that it's not an official release. If the VGC were to review a reproduction cart of, say, Little Samson, which in its original form is very rare for an NES game, people might be under the impression that he has an original, rare copy of the game and thus would have to plaster the "ex...

Reproduction carts?

In the year 2015, it has become very easy to buy reproduction cartridges in order to play games on a real system without the need for emulators or a ton of money. Would you ever be open to reviewing these? There are plenty of great rare games, unreleased games, and hacks that can be bought in the fo...

Re: 2015/4/15: Neo Geo Pocket: Puzzle Link, SNK Vs. Capcom: The Match of the Millennium

Out of all the pre-Sony handheld competitors to Nintendo, I'd say the Neo Geo Pocket Color offers the most bang for your buck. It has a much better good-to-crap games ratio than the Game Gear, the Lynx, and the Game.com (though the Game.com is terrible compared to pretty much any system). A lot of p...

Re: 2015/4/15: Neo Geo Pocket: Puzzle Link, SNK Vs. Capcom: The Match of the Millennium

For my money, I loved Metal Slug 2nd Mission for the same system and even think it's better than most of the arcade titles in that series. If 1st Mission got an A, 2nd Mission sounds like it would be a surefire A+ (except maybe the issue that you have to throw a grenade every time you pause, but you...

Update Virtual Boy console review?

I'm not sure how long ago the system review for the Virtual Boy was written, but there's a sentence in it that definitely doesn't ring true today: "It's not difficult or expensive to acquire a Virtual Boy system." Looking on eBay, collecting a Virtual Boy system is absolutely a pricey ende...
