Re: AtariBox Meets its Goal

I’d be down with it only if they could incorporate online multiplayer with the old games. Example: Warlords (2600) online tournaments, Kaboom versus matches, Pitfall races, etc.

Just some examples to freshen up the old games for a modern era. Tons of fun ideas.

Re: Mega Man 11 looks amazing!

It does look good. Hopefully, unlike M#9, it’ll have the soul of the old games.

One thing, I’m almost never a fan of “new abilities”, for any franchise. I feel like is usually compromises level design, but I could be wrong in this case.

For you dudes that love a game to death but it gets stale or too easy, you can try speedrunning. The OoT speedrunning community is actually VERY active.

Re: I really dig the Switch with its portability

I don’t have a Switch, but I still agree with your point. I purchased my first portable console last year—a 2DS—and I LOVED being able to play games not attached to the TV. Especially with a family, I could play discreetly without drawing everyone’s attention. It ended up being too hard on my hands,...

Re: My declining interest in modern video games.

My issues: Time—Because I tend to play in 30 minute spurts, so a lot of the bigger/epic games aren’t appealing to me because I don’t want to waste time watching a 20 minute cutscene. Online—I agree, online CAN be ok, but still pales in comparison to playing with your buddies. Plus, there always issu...

Re: Best and Worst Console Designs

Well the critic has reviewed these consoles (and their controllers), so he has data to make a best and worst list pretty easily. One of my favorite things is the eject button on the SNES. Don’t think I used it once. Lol. I think the Wii, with its minimal design, backward compatibility, and built in ...

Re: Baseball in Decline?

I don't have cable, and don't live near a MLB team, so the best I can do is to watch a few of the televised minor-league games on the local station that plays them (Charlotte Knights games.) I do (usually) watch playoff and World Series games in the fall when they are on. I like watching baseball, ...

Re: The Room (Best movie ever)

One interesting fact: the only advertisement for the room was a billboard in Hollywood that stayed up for like 5 years.

The best critique of the room I read was: “it looks like aliens observed humans for 15 minutes and then decided to try to make a movie about them”.

Re: Can video games be adapted into good movies

I think it’s harder to nail down who your target audience is for video game movies. Gamers have a really wide age range, and the target audience for “regular” movies tends to be more defined.
