Re: What parts of Retro Gaming take up your time?

50% of my time is watching online streamers play games I used to love, but never had time to master or speedruns.

30% researching old games I'd like to revisit (currently Oddworld) or a newer console to invest in (currently a PS3).

20% actually playing. Probably less than that really.

Re: backlog article

Kind of seems like a waste. Just play games you feel like playing. No pressure. Lol

Re: Most Nostalgic Soundtracks?

Kings of the Beach, NES--have had that little loop memorized for 25+ years. Lol
RBI baseball, NES--same
Ninja Gaiden,NES--music to torture my efforts to beat the game
Mega Man 2, NES--check out Bit Brigade's live version if you haven't. It's awesome.

Important to include the context here, as horrible as those games are. AVGN has a good video about these.

Re: RBI Baseball 2 (NES)

Thanks, downloaded 15 this morning. Plays great! Finally a baseball game that uses an actual dpad and buttons for control (as oppose to all those "tap and swipe" controls).

Thanks again for the heads up. If only it had that corny music loop.....

Re: RBI Baseball 2 (NES)

Awesome. The original RBI, warts and all, is somehow my favorite baseball game of all time. I have no idea why either. Lol. Maybe it's the pacing. Either way, I've never tried the sequels, but I have it on my mind to look for RBI 2 next time I'm in the video game store. Question: anybody know any go...

Re: 2016/2/13: Playstation 4: NBA 2K16

I think you guys hit on something. NBA 2K16 has become incredibly complicated. Ironically, there's no manual either! It would be nice for casual fans to be able to enjoy a basketball game too. NBA Jam used to fill that niche, but it was a little over the top. Something simple that still allowed you...

Re: Movies/TV you've exposed your kids to.

Yeah, Saturday nights on MeTV are fantastic. Those old shows have tons of charm, and hold up well. That's how we got into Star Trek, in fact.

We also just started watching Little House on the Prarie, and I like it more than I thought I would. Lol.

Re: Commando (NES)

Those NES vertical shooters (but not plane/space shooters) are a lot of fun. You may also enjoy Ikari Warriors, and my favorite, Jackal.
