Jurassic World

Anyone see it? I thought it was great and had a better and more similar feel to the original that the other sequels.

Didn't care for the military guy subplot, but other than that and one super contrived scene, I thought it was really good.

Re: Political Correctness

This is easy. It's your board. Do what you like. But if readers complain, try to be open minded and consider their feedback. But it's up to you to decide what to do with it. This is my favorite board in part because its heavier moded that other boards I visit (most TheGearPage). I love that posts ar...

Re: Games that make you laugh

Road rash 64. It's the first game I remember with "rag doll" physics--meaning when you crashed, your body flew and flailed all over the place. It was hilarious to see yourself rocket 100 feet in the air and then go into a fetal position on the way down. Also, spraying guys with pepper spra...

Re: My daughter and I have gotten into Star Trek

Good timing. We finish III (return of Spock) and IV (voyage home) this weekend. I had a hard time getting into return of Spock, but I enjoyed voyage home quite a bit. That said, it's definitely the funny/goofy one of the series, and I wouldn't want another one like that. The more I watch, the apprec...

Re: What are you listening to right now?

My brother got to see Noel Gallagher the other day, so with that I mind, I've been into some old school Oasis lately. Call them what you will--arrogant, rude, etc--but those boys KNOW melody. Also, for the last year, I've been into this kid named Brett Dennen. Has a Van Morrison vibe that I like. I ...

Re: Super Metroid

Yeah, check out the GBA metroids next.... They're awesome. I agree about the wall jumping. When I first fell into that hole where those little guys show you how to do it, I couldn't figure it out. So....I would reset the game and try to figure out how to avoid that hole, which is impossible, of cour...

Re: Favorite YouTube Gamers?

Against my better judgement, I spent 2 hours learning about the infamous AVGN vs Irate Gamer fued. I came away from that still a AVGN fan and not an IG one, but man, that "Archfiend" guy may be my least liked character on YouTube.

Re: My daughter and I have gotten into Star Trek

Glad to see so many trek fans. The more I watch, the more I appreciate it--the characters are just perfect representations of the different types of people and the unity they can have in working together for a common goal. My daughter and I were playing hangman, and this was hers: "I have been,...

Re: Movies/TV you've exposed your kids to.

Yeah, my daughter is 9, and she is actually pretty fond of stuff that came out before I was born....Flipper, I dream of Jeanie, etc. We recently watched Raiders of the Lost Ark, but I made her look away from the ending (where everyone's faces melt off). We watched Jurassic Park yesterday, which I wa...
