Re: Physical video games in stores

The transition from one media form to another is interesting. In music, cassette tapes co-existed with viny for a long time, then with CDs - which did seem kill off vinyl. Digital music downloads came along and really took over. In books, we see the digital ebook now co-existing with the physical b...

Re: Best video game feels?

Having played games since around 1994, I've had a few. The first time I played Sonic the Hedgehog and Streets of Rage were certified AWESOME moments. The first time I played Bioshock, I was captivated and couldn't look back. Also, the first time I played Quake II for PC. More recently, the first ti...

Re: Best video game feels?

Have you ever beaten a really tough level, or killed an infuriating boss, and gotten that awesomely satisfying feeling? This year I beat the original Adventure Island. That was a euphoric victory. It isn't as renowned for difficulty as other tough games such as Battletoads, but it should be. Some o...

Based on your reviews thus far, Switch games are split 50/50 between great games and duds.

Re: Video Games 1 (TI99)

Good review Scotland is the TI-99 worth exploring for us uninitiated ? Not sure if it saw a release in the U.K. So would probably go the emulator route. Thanks Sut. The TI99 has been relatively inexpensive to collect for here in the States. The biggest issue I was oxidized keyboard contacts. I ende...

Re: MAME

I've not used MAME in along time, but recently fancied some arcade action. My PC is getting on a bit but really seems to be struggling to run some titles I would expect it to such as Scramble Spirits and Outrunners. Has MAME's system requirements increased ? If so what's the best MAME version for o...

Re: Worst Songs From Your Favorite Bands?

In comparison to the rest of the catalogue for these bands, which are among my favorites: Genesis - I can't dance (the song is far below par for Genesis and the video only hurts) Judas Priest - Lochness Blackfield - Go to Hell (this song really bothers me lyrically. I don't mind angry songs but thi...

Re: 2017/4/27: Lynx: Baseball Heroes, Ninja Gaiden III

Time to hit Google. Its a neat read to learn this was developed by ex Amiga people for Epyx, who shopped it around for investors. Sega could have run with it, or maybe Mattel if they wanted back in a game they knew well. So much good stuff in the Lynx. Victory is not always to the swift or stronges...
