Re: Super Metroid
Yeah, check out the GBA metroids next.... They're awesome. I agree about the wall jumping. When I first fell into that hole where those little guys show you how to do it, I couldn't figure it out. So....I would reset the game and try to figure out how to avoid that hole, which is impossible, of cou...

Re: Final Fantasy X HD Remaster (PS4 edition)
I'm an idiot. I bought this for PS2 when it released. Then I bought the remastered version on the Vita. Then I bought it on PS3. And now I just bought it for PS4 because the limited edition comes with a calender. The worst part is I only played 2-3 hours of it on PS3/Vita. Help.

Re: Super Metroid
Yeah, I've tried Prime before too and couldn't get into it. I think this time will be different. I actually might make Fusion my next game before Prime. Another think I like is that the games aren't 25 hour games. I finished Super Metroid in 8-9, and the Prime games seem to be in the 15 hour range.

Super Metroid
Over the past few days or so I finally finished Super Metroid on the Wii U's virtual console. I had started it a few times previously, but never got very far and couldn't seem to get into it. The only other Metroid game I've ever finished was Return of Samus. I don't know what changed this time, but...

Re: Why I'm dropping Trophy hunting
Is it good? Yes, with some caveats. It's so brutally difficult at times that I can't help but obsess over conquering it. It's kind of like Ninja Gaiden or Mario Bros. 2 in that the difficulty doesn't always feel fair; there's one boss fight that takes place in a series of low-lit chambers where the...

Re: Lessons of 8th Generation console launches
Atari Fever- Remember the PS3 looked like it was losing badly last-gen, only to pull ahead of the 360 at the eleventh hour, so the reverse could easily happen here with the Xbox One as well. Sony hasn't "pantsed" anyone yet, I have a feeling their egos may get their better of them sooner ...

Re: Uncharted isn't very good...
Hmm, maybe it's because I played the first one closer to when it came out, but I remember really enjoying the game. Now, the sequels are definitely better, and sometimes the pattern of cutscene, explore, shootout, repeat can get old, but it's one of my favorite series ever. Still, the mechanics of e...

Re: Chrono Trigger (Nintendo DS)
I'm a Frog guy. Love his design, accent, and his theme song is sooo good.
I've played the game through twice, and I don't think I used Robo at all. In fact, he may be the only character I've never used. I guess his personality didn't grow on me.

Re: Chrono Trigger (Nintendo DS)
Rev - Did you get around to playing Chrono Cross? I love Chrono Trigger, but I think I love Cross even more. Amazing soundtrack, huge cast of varied characters, no random battles, beautiful art, and great battle system. The thing I love most is the way it handles leveling. You can't be under or over...

Re: Lessons of 8th Generation console launches
Microsoft really screwed themselves at launch in a couple ways: 1. Their Xbox reveal was God awful - confusing, stupid policies, etc. that turned off a lot of their fan base and gave Sony every opportunity to take shots at them every time they flubbed something up. 2. They tethered the Kinect to the...
