Re: Nathan Drake and the Bad Review

If there's a review problem, it's reviewers getting paid off to write rave reviews - often before a game is even released This isn't the only problem. I think just as big a problem is reviewers (or sites) getting paid off to write poor reviews. Whether it be Uncharted in this case or any number of ...

Re: SNES on 3DS: Not All That

There's homebrew SNES emulators on the old 3DS, and I don't believe they run very well. The New 3DS is a stopgap and SNES games aren't some hot commodity that's gonna convince the general public to upgrade to the new model. The New 3DS's CPU is quite a bit stronger than the old model's.

Re: Your Desert Island Albums?

I'm gonna set parameters for myself and only pick five, otherwise I would just take everything in my library. I'll also not choose greatest hits albums. 1. Paul Simon: Graceland - I'm not a huge fan of Paul Simon's solo career, much preferring his work with Garfunkel, but this album is perfect. Love...

Re: 2016/3/5: Playstation 4: Street Fighter V

This review seems inconsistent with your general gaming philosophy. There are only 16 characters, with more slated to be added as DLC either through real money, or in-game currency; no arcade mode; numerous features of the game aren't even present yet and will be added in later - am I missing someth...

Re: Critically Acclaimed/Popular Video Games you have little to no interest to own/play and why?

So you hate shooters, MOBAs, MMOs, sports sims, racing sims, open world games, PC sims, and stealth games, and you mention that there are more? You must have a hell of a time finding anything to play.

Re: Rise of the Tomb Raider (Xbox One)

I've played a a handful of hours and haven't noticed the language at all. The deaths are violent, so I could see the argument there, but comparative to other games that are widely praised here (such as GTA, or Until Dawn) and elsewhere it doesn't move the meter at all. The one thing that is souring ...

Re: Dads/fathers: when do you find time to play?

Is is bad that I worry about this as a married 30 year old with no kids? My wife wants kids (2) and I don't care if we have any at all, so we've compromised at one. The thing is, we're both getting settled in our careers and are planning to get a house, so we've put the kid thing on hold. However, s...

Re: 2015/12/12: Xbox One: Halo 5: Guardians

I think if there were more evidence that people played local co-op, they probably would've included it. It's also why I believe that some recent FPS's have removed the single-player campaigns. That's not a popular sentiment here, but if THAT many people cared they wouldn't risk alienating them by el...

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake News

David, Square Enix has made missteps lately to be sure, but they did back then too (see FFII NES). They've always been dividing their fan base by aggressively evolving the series. Sometimes it works out and produces something brilliant (FFX, Vagrant Story), and sometimes it causes derision (Dirge o...

Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake News

Ptdebate - What about Square-Enix's history in the last ten years leads you to believe that making FF7 supposedly even larger is a good thing? I know you liked FF13, but a lot of people did not, and I think most fans agree that it wasn't the same as the classic games in the series. Then they had Fin...
