Re: The GBA is basically the love child of SNES and the Sega 32X hardware?

It's always fun to compare these two, because they represent two very different approaches to budget hardware. Sure, the 32x clearly wins in raw color count and screen resolution, but overall? One way way to describe it, is that the GBA is a better designed 32x that requires just half the cpu power ...

Agreed on the stretched screenshots, and I've complained about it before, but we seem stuck with them.

I really miss the days when the screenshots were still useful.

Re: NEW Intellivision Amico E3 news

This isn't helping your case. It just tells me that you might be able to compete with the Switch, mobile, and PC as a place for indie quality titles in an already overcrowded market, but right now, there's not enough complete to where you can trust the public with a reveal. Not answered: Questionabl...

Re: Google Stadia is Dead on Arrival!

So, it's a streaming only gaming device meets Netflix meets the E-shop, with the worst aspects of each and a triple dip pricing scheme?

That's adorable. The cynical little trolls more than deserve their failure.

Re: 2019/6/4: Atari 2600: Super Challenge Baseball, Treasure Island (Europe)

I'm just happy to learn there's another 2600 game where they just drew a duck and didn't realize it.

It's such a bizarrely specific problem.

Re: Berzerk or it's sequel Frenzy?

They both feel like almost half of a better game. One day, I'd like to play that game. But in the meantime, I play more Berzerk, just because of the immediacy. And because I'm old enough to remember a time when the sight of a green stick man being electrocuted was the scariest thing I'd ever seen. B...

Re: 2019/5/30: Game Boy: Super Mario Land, Duck Tales

This was a pleasant surprise. Most controversial opinions on the internet lean towards the negative. And it's good to see Super Mario Land finally getting its due, instead of being bashed by people who confuse the offbeat minimalist charms with poor design. It's just long enough to be a breath of fr...

Re: Favorite console gen graphic leaps.

For the Lego games screenshots that Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins for 3DS which is actually a prequel companion game to the Wii U/Switch/PS4/Xbox One Lego City Undercover with the second Lego screenshot? Technically, a prequel. But after spending way too much time with both, it's more like...

Re: Favorite console gen graphic leaps.

That a nice example of look at the diffrence, you do not see that anymore. It still happens. You just need to look at the handhelds. https://www.cheatcc.com/images3ds/legocityundercoverthechasebegins_review_1.jpg Welcome to Lego Silent Hill, but be careful. People often vanish in the fog, never to ...

Re: Favorite console gen graphic leaps.

Sorry for taking so long to get these out. It took me several hours of searching to realize I wasn't going to find GIFs of sprite flicker for anything more powerful than 8-bit. So, on to the next idea: when underpowered hardware tried to simulate reality. http://videogameconsolelibrary.com/images/19...
