Re: 2018/10/2: Playstation: Medievil II, Dracula: The Resurrection

Eh. This is the same Sony that needed Marvel to save their Spiderman movies. Never underestimate their ability to screw up a sure thing. I mean, you'd never know the PSP was more successful than the NES, the SNES, and the N64, unless you tortured it out of them. They'll happily talk about the Vita's...

Re: PC games that never got a proper console port?

edi Knight 2 isn't the same without a mod that allows your lightsaber to actually cut limbs off. There's also the 'System Shock' series, the original 'Deus Ex', 'Planescape:Torment', plus 'I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream'. The era was just a bundle of joy and optimism. Beyond that, Kotaku's reade...

Re: 2018/9/18: Lynx: Dracula: The Undead

It really seems like this genre isn't for you. You also go after Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion for their dream logic approach to problem solving, and the fact that you have to think like a mad scientist to beat them, using the game world as your lab... You only see the frustrating part where you'...

What made Medal of Honor: underground a poor sequel? So many things. But check this out. https://s.uvlist.net/l/y2005/1/6984.jpg Here's Medal of Honor Underground on the 32 bit, 16.8mhz GBA. Re: 2018/9/21: Game Boy Advance: Spy Hunter / Super Sprint

Wasn't this by the same company that butchered Marble Madness? And brought us the unintentional comedy/horror of Medal of Honor: Underground? How did that same company get the rights to publish Wade Hixton and Wing Commander? Has anyone else ever hit so many highs and so many lows in the same consol...

Re: Mortal Kombat Monday 1993

If only we could back to a time when the worst thing edgelords did to other gamers was trigger a scene of cartoon gore drawn all over pictures of an actor pretending to be a ninja. You'd thank them for the service, and consider it the best possible use of your quarter. When Mortal Monday was announc...

Re: Halloween Review Special

Okay, now it feels like the Halloween season. Thanks for keeping this tradition going, critic. It's by far my favorite part of this site. Did you notice you've given 3 6s to these games? Silent Hill, Resident Evil VII, and Alien Isolation. Intentional or not, it's fitting. Also, looking over these r...
