Re: 2016/5/8: Atari 2600: Space Cavern, Titan Axe, Zippy the Porcupine

I would like to see a review of Princess Rescue also, but I don't believe the cart is sold anymore in the Atari Age store; the ROM should be available though. The VGC's feelings about Zippy are similar to how I feel about Princess rescue, though from the Zippy review, it does sound like Princess Res...

Woah Dave! (Wii U/3DS eshop)

I actually got this game a while back, tried it out and thought it was intriguing but ended up not playing it much. However, I decided to give it another try the other day, and now I'm hooked. Woah Dave! is an arcade platformer that plays like a combination of Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 2 wit...

Good lord. Do you have to be a wet blanket in every thread that you participate in?

Re: So I'm not sure if my PS3 is dying

Just make sure if it is the GPU he is going to reball it, not reflow it. A reflow will temporarily fix the problem but won't last forever. A reball is a real fix. Thanks for the advice. Hopefully he is still offering the service (haven't checked in a month or two) because now I definitely want to l...

Re: So I'm not sure if my PS3 is dying

However in your case, I am not sure it is going to work. From my googling it seams that the common problem is bad solder connections on the GPU that break under excessive heat. If that has happened you really need a professional to reball the chip. That sounds more like what you've got. It could ju...

Re: So I'm not sure if my PS3 is dying

And it's alive! I think. Disassembled the whole unit, and as suspected the original thermal paste was just some dry flaky globs at this point. Cleaned off the ol' RSX and Cell with ethanol, applied some arctic silver and reassembled(with a couple of extra screws at the end, just like everything I'v...

Re: Why does everyone love Pac Man so much?

You two guys are crazy. Pac-Man was awesome, is awesome, and will always be awesome. The only thing going against it is that its sequel improved on it in most every way. But that doesn't mean the original isn't still great!

Re: Tempest X (PS1)

Thanks for posting this. I have a PS1 trackball but never even considered trying it with this game. I tried it out, and it works great. Then this gave me the idea to try out my UltraRacer controller (pictured below), and it works too! It doesn't seem to be quite as precise as the trackball, but I do...

Re: help with the nes blinking light.

If you can follow instructions and aren't afraid to open up your system, you could disable the lockout chip. There are lots of tutorials and instructional videos online explaining how to do it. I've never done it myself, but apparently it isn't that difficult and goes a long way in solving the blink...
