Re: Hollow Knight - Can we convince VGC to download a game?

The no-downloads rule is pretty much nonsense in the context of the Critic's overall ideals. ! Really? I thought one of the Critic's ideals was actually owning the games that he collects. In that context it isn't nonsense at all. Anyway, as others have pointed out, there is no strict no-downloads p...

Re: Very basic Raspberry Pi questions..

I successfully installed Retropie on a Pi 3 B+, but honestly I still don't feel knowledgeable enough to answer any technical questions about it no matter how basic.

Here is the site that i used. I imagine it could answer any questions you may have:

Re: 2019/1/3: Nintendo Switch: Slain: Back From Hell

Can anybody give me a good answer as to why a game like this would FORCE you to use the analog stick? That's odd that the Switch version forces you to use the analog stick. In the PS4 version you can go into the option menu and change control to the d pad. I would probably give Slain a B grade too,...

Re: Slain: Back From Hell (Switch)

I picked up the imported physical release of Slain for the PS4 recently and have been enjoying it quite a bit. For those interested the digital Switch version is on sale on the Nintendo eshop for $4.99, and the PS4 and Vita versions are only $2.99 on the PlayStation Store. Looks like critics are cal...

Re: Bad game names

Here's one I recently saw on the Switch eshop:

Sigi: A Fart for Melusina.

It's hard to top that one, but Lightening Force just might. Thanks to one letter, the name went from kick ass to incredibly lame.

Re: Wii games with “NES controls”

A safe bet would be Kirby's Epic Yarn. My niece and nephew really liked that one.

Punch-Out!! can be played with the same control scheme as the old NES game.

And while it's not ideal, Smash Bros. can be played with NES style controls. Every kid I know has preferred to play this way.

Re: Madden Tournament Shooting

What bothers me is this guy had a long history of mental illness - including the need for anti-psychotic drugs and he had to be sent to a special place in Utah. And yet he was legally able to purchase multiple weapons? Another problem - in addition to the argument Voor made - is that by not allowin...

Re: Nes Popeye Wrong Character Name

From Wikipedia: "After the theatrical Popeye cartoon series ceased production in 1957, Bluto's name was changed to Brutus because it was incorrectly believed that Paramount Pictures, distributors of the Fleischer Studios (later Famous Studios) cartoons, owned the rights to the name "Bluto&...
