Critic...yes, $48.00 if you send in a used 5200 controller. And no worries, Matchstick...Best Electronics is completely reliable and kind of legendary within the Atari community. I've ordered from him at least a dozen times in the past five years and never had a single problem. He even ships your product out in original Atari boxes with Atari packing tape!
If you are really into this kind of stuff, spend the extra $10 to get the catalog (it's an Atari museum in print). The one thing I would advise if/when you order...call and talk to him on the phone. The website works fine but he can advise you better on the current status of available controllers/parts in person. He's also an interesting guy to talk to...I doubt that there's anyone alive who knows mores about Atari parts/repairs than he does. Also, he always includes some interesting extras in your box!

Some people have become more aggravation than they're worth for Best Electronics. So here's a couple of links with tips to not end up blacklisted.

I'm sure I've ordered from this place many times before, although I get it confused with B&C Electronics which has similar products.
Didn't one of these ditch paypal for some google pay or something? I think I had to cancel my last order because of that. I didn't want to sign up for another pay service.

He's a bit of an eccentric. I have heard on the AtariAge forums that if you ask too many questions, or don't like the payment methods, etc, he'll just stop responding to you and won't sell to you in the future! He's kinda like the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld!
But, he knows his stuff and has great quality Atari parts. I bought controllers and paddles, brand new with upgraded parts so they are guaranteed never to break (paddles will never stutter, etc).

I just had a guy on ebay fix my 5200 controller for less than $40. It took a while to get it back, but it works GREAT. I'm really happy. I may be sending him a few more!

The idea that a 5200 controller could ever "work great" is very dubious to me.

Yeah it seems like an oxymoron, but I do have a good way for testing them for accuracy.
In Realsports Baseball, it can be very hard to throw the ball around the bases if the joystick isn't working perfectly. I tested this to make sure there were no "blind spots".
Also, at the plate, to swing you move the joystick right to left. If the joystick isn't working perfectly, the swing will not come completely around.
Having tested both of these conditions, I can confirm this controller is in tip top shape.
