This "game" makes Night Trap look like Super Metroid.

I just saw that today whe I was on my lunch break. Surprised to see it. The question I have is: did people know about this game before the Angry Video Game Nerd did a review on it?

I never knew I desperately needed Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties pillow covers until now.

The AVGN reviewed it in '09, and it was definitely infamous before then. If any one person was responsible for bringing it to the popular consciousness, it was probably Seanbaby when he reviewed it for EGM in '97 in a list of the worst console games. (I could've sworn that this review was also on his own site, but apparently not.)

The game is atrocious, but I am so tempted to pick up this special edition, if only for the interviews and commentary. I think every one would love to know WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!

Maybe a Mandela affect, but I could have sworn my buddy had it on his PC in the early 90's. I recall being loaded as hell and laughing at it.

Yes, there was a PC version. It sold very few copies, and only one is known to exist today, so you got to experience a special, stupid piece of history.
