Plaion lied when they denied back in July that it was being delayed. So back in July an email to a Japanese store leaked saying the AES+ was being delayed by a year until September 2027. Plaion denied it and said it had something to do with a Spectrum accessory. And they kept taking AES+ orders, taking people’s money for the next month and a half until yesterday knowing they wouldn’t be able to make good on those orders and that it would be delayed until September 2027.
I’m not buying the component shortage. There’s 2 possibilities.
1) it was a scam all along
2) they thought they could recreate a 1:1 replica of the AES, but realized it was a lot harder than expected. This makes sense because it’s a heck of a system. Once they figured out they couldn’t make it, then it turned into a scam. Also, shouldn’t there be the AES+ games and accessories? They don’t need those expensive “components”. Have they not made the games and accessories because they haven’t even made an AES+ console? It’s all going down in flames. I wouldn’t put it past these liars to use an old AES at the Tokyo Game Show and say it’s the AES+.

Re: Neo Geo AES+ Delayed a Year
The good news for me is I have my Atari 400 mini. It is great. Amazing to see how hard and unforgiving games used to be. You would think you were bad at games, then going back to them you see they are impossible plus not very good. Ace of Aces, was pretty amazing for about 30 seconds. Now I get to see it load up in 5 seconds instead of an hour.
Good luck with anyone getting a NGA+

Re: Neo Geo AES+ Delayed a Year
Even the September 2027 release date sounds pie in the sky. It reminds me of dates I went on when the girl implied that she might want to see me again.
So let’s say they need everything ready by August 2027 to ship. We’re supposed to think that in 11 months:
1) 1 million game cartridges will be produced
2) hundreds of thousands of controllers
3) last but not least 100,000 AES+ consoles
As of now there’s not even a working prototype. If at the Tokyo Game Show they don’t let independent people take apart the AES+ consoles to make sure it’s not a fake, that’s suspicious.
Like I mentioned I think the console design isn’t good enough and they’re having trouble getting the more demanding games to work. It’s so easy to vastly underestimate the power of the Neo Geo.
And a lot of games they made doing all sorts of different ways of getting the most out of the system. That might be impossible to recreate.

Are we gonna have another Intellivision Amico/Coleco Chameleon on our hands?

So far they have made, 2 commodore 64s, 1 Vic 20, similar to the C64, two Sinclair spectrum models, 1 black one white. An Amiga 500 mini.
An Intellivision with 50 games and insets to play the games.
3 Atari VCS consoles, 2600 plus, yellow 2600 plus and a 7800 plus.
They have an A1200 in the offing with a proto doing the rounds.
So with regards to hardware, they have 9 products to market.
Amico had one proto total. It never came out. So not much of a comparison. I think it might be late to market but it will come out.

YouTubers like Neo Nes and Mr. Wright Way have been invited to Tokyo Game Show to demo the system, so hopefully we will get some confirmation soon.

Not going to beat a dead horse here and I’ll wait until the Tokyo Game Show is over.
However, this is definitely a scam. It’ll never be released. They’re lying and they’re probably making money getting interest off money from preorders.
They just couldn’t figure out a way to make a 1:1 replica. The Neo Geo is an amazing system and I take pride knowing I own an original considering it’s impossible to recreate.
People should ask for refunds.

I would say 100 percent not a scam. Though with regards to the NG, they will have to get it right, so unlike the C64 with its appalling joysticks they have to make it with quality in mind.
I was hoping for an Atari ST mini.
