Twisted Metal

Postby Van Halbgott » September 14th, 2026, 8:05 am

Had just started playing Twisted Metal recently on my PS1.

So…much…fun…I started with the original because I wanted to play Twisted Metal Black for the PS2 and decided to the start with the first game in the series and it’s great.

There’s also Twisted Metal 2 that I also would like to get at some point, because I sort of want to collect more for my PS1; at least two working DualShock controllers and some other games…maybe Ridge Racer (1995) since I still have the save data on my memory card…miraculously…but no game.

I’ve also been watch Sweet Tooth fight the Joker from DC Comics on Death Battle recently, but I’m not spoiling it.

That game was one that had me buy the PS1. It looked so cool and when I finally got it it was more fun than I thought it would be. Twisted Metal 2 is the best in the series. I never cared for the versions on the later consoles but there was 1 the critic mentioned that looks phenomenal. Have fun.

It’s a great game. I had many great times in 1995. The surbubia level was so big I couldn’t believe it. Twisted Metal 2 is good too.

I'm a bit confused, why are there two nearly identical posts in two different forum sections for this game...?

In any case, I actually played the first two games last year for the first time. I found them very janky and somewhat difficult to play - especially with the fact that all AI opponents are always focused on you and don't actually try to kill eachother in your absence, but it's definitely a game that has a lot of style, especially the first title. I heard the PC version of Twisted Metal 2 (and possibly also 1?) is still played online to this day by a community of dedicated fans.

I did see there's a new Twisted Metal game called Twisted Metal V, spearheaded by a long-time fan, with a trailer out on YouTube, but I haven't played it. Supposedly it's single player only for now.

Huh...where is the other post in the other section? I didn't know that someone posted about it before me.

I meant this one. I just got a little bit confused by the two different threads since they are so similar.
