Help me add some essential SNES games to my collection
I've got big stuff like Legend of Zelda, Super Metroid, Mario World, Super Punch Out, Final Fantasy III (VI), Castlevania IV, Actraiser, Contra III.
I also tend to have a lot of niche titles and less essential, must have games. Stuff like Ghoul Patrol, The Adventures of Batman and Robin, Robocop Vs Terminator, Alien vs Predator, Battletoads in Battlemaniacs, Uniracers, Magic Sword etc...
So I'm wondering what everyone considers as must have SNES games...I'm hoping that your lists will help me round out my collection over the next few months.
Here is what I've come up with so far:
1. Mario Kart
2. F-Zero
3. Donkey Kong Country
4. Yoshi Island: Super Mario World 2
5. Chrono Trigger
6. Super Bomberman
7. Super Street Fighter II Turbo
8. TMNT - Turtles in Time
9. Super Ghouls n Ghosts
10. Star Fox
What do you guys think should I need to add to my collection? Feel free to make lists or just tell me a specific game that I need to own. Please refrain from mentioning crazy expensive stuff like Earthbound. I know I need it, I want it...I can't afford it lol.

Help me add some essential SNES games to my collection
I should mention that from your list I also have the following:
Batman Returns
The Empire Strikes Back
Mortal Kombat II
Mega Man X
Earthworm Jim 1 and 2
Super Mario Allstars
I've also got:
Populous
Super Smash TV
X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse
Actraiser 2
Knights of the Round
Clayfighter
Lord of the Rings
Jurassic Park
Killer Instinct
Tecmo Super Bowl III
NBA Jam: TE
Ren and Stimpy: Veediots
Rock n Roll Racing
Secret of Evermore
Total Carnage
Pretty sure that's all of it.
I've been collecting for years and I feel like I've got a pretty good collection, but when I was looking at it last night I felt like it was missing some games.
I really think I need to look into added Mario Kart, TMNT: Turtles in Time and Super Mario World 2. Those are some stone cold classics that I feel naked without!
I've got my eye on Axelay. I'm a shooter fanatic and I've always wanted to try this one.
Final Fantasy II isn't a huge priority because of the game on the PSP, PS1 and GBA. I'd like to get it someday, but I think I can wait.
Aladdin is another game that I've always wanted to get. I've heard both the SNES and Genesis versions are very different...but good in their own ways.
I just checked prices on Secret of Mana...If I could snag a copy around $40 I would certainly get that.
Thanks again for the reply.

Some of these will be doubles of what you and others have listed, but off the top of my head:
Chrono Trigger
Super Mario World
SMW 2: Yoshi's Island
Earthbound
Secret of Mana
Mega Man X 1-3
Super Metroid
Super Castlevania IV
Super Punch Out!!
Zelda: A Link to the Past
Final Fantasy II/IV
Final Fantasy III/VI
TMNT IV
Contra III: Alien Wars
Donkey Kong Country 1, 2
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario RPG
Zombies Ate My Neighbors
ActRaiser
Soul Blazer
R-Type III
Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals (game I'm currently playing: awesome RPG!)
Kirby Super Star
And honestly, I'm still only scratching the surface. The system's library is impossibly deep. Now, depending on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go, you could also look into importing both Europe's and especially Japan's Super Famicom games: Bahamut Lagoon, Terranigma, Star Ocean, Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2), Parodius series, The Firemen, Majyuuou/King of Demons, Live a Live, Magical Pop N', Umihara Kawase, Do Re Mi Fantasy, Dragon Quest 1/2/3/5/6, Final Fantasy V, Shin Megami Tensei series, Fire Emblem series
(Sorry for the text change. I copied and pasted one of my posts from another site). Many of those aren't really practical to collect for as the RPGs are text heavy and in Japanese (obviously). But you aren't opposed to emulation, every RPG I've listed has fan-translation patches and they're all incredible. The U.S. missed out on some of the best games of the 16-bit era. It's really too bad, but emulation is a great way to play those games now. Sorry for the long list, but I've been researching Super Nintendo/S. Famicom games I've missed for the last 6 years. It really is the best system ever. Nothing else comes close, imo.

It does have a so bad it's good quality, yet I question Captain America and the Avengers as an essential SNES game. Unless you're a rabid Marvel Comics fan (which I am), you won't find much to like here. I'd give it a D, maybe a D-...

I actually love this game but I don't feel like it is an essential title. I think it is a definite for beat'mup fans and fans of the comics/shows.
