I've been playing a lot of Marvel Vs. Capcom (DC) (AWESOME GAME!), which got me wondering: "What's my favorite Capcom fighter?"
I tend to lean towards Street Fighter 2 Turbo and Super Street Fighter 2, but I'm guessing my answer stems from the "nostalgic" side of things. (I haven't played any Street Fighter 4 iteration or Capcom Vs. SNK.)

Super Street Fighter 2 on the Genesis with a 6 button controller. So much better than the aerial combo crazy marvel v capcom games. Power Stone 2 comes in second. Great party fightet

I'd go with Power Stone 2, I had so much fun with that game as a kid. The first Power Stone comes in 2nd. Wish Capcom would make a Power Stone 3 already.

Probably Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. Either that or Power Stone. I never played Power Stone 2, though. Maybe I'd like that even better.

Got to be Street Fighter 2, it just changed everything beautifully balanced and fluid something one on one fighters weren't previously. The Sega MegaDrive version being my personal fave, the Sega 6-button pad fitted the action perfectly.

I visited an arcade this weekend. First time in ages and it was an incredibly fun experience. The owner has an obvious love of arcades, because you can tell he does a lot of work to make sure the cabinets and monitors are pristine. Anyway, there was a gorgeous set-up for Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Huge 40+ inch Standard Def monitor, fantastic scan lines, and no evidence of burn-in. It's beautifully animated and chaotic. I've played the game before on 6th gen consoles (DC & PS2) and again on XBLA, but the arcade is where these games really shine.
But I also agree with others that it might be TOO frantic. Too much aerial combat, too combo heavy. Even after a while with the games, I'm still unsure of the controls. As such, I'd say Street Fighter Alpha 2 or 3 would be my favorite. I enjoy the roster to Super Street Fighter 2 the most, but I love the cartoonish/anime style of the alpha series.

My two favorites would have to be Capcom vs. SNK 2 and Power Stone 2. I thought CvS2 had pretty solid balance, a great assortment of fighters, and I really loved the 3 on 3 match ups. I love PS2 because of the hectic gameplay and it is simply a great part game. I have dumped a bunch of time into both, they are great.
