Could you be more specific? Those games, especially the first two, are widely considered legit cornerstones of the Mega Drive library.

Huh? These games (especially 1 and 2) are very highly esteemed.

Like Oltobaz said - who gives them hate exactly ? Most people/websites have nothing but positive things to say about them.

Streets of Rage 2 is my favorite "beat 'em up" of all time. I'm excited to see the 360 has a Sega Classic which I plan to buy soon. 1 & 3 were decent, but SOR2 was it! I wasted so many hours at night through my early adulthood playing this classic. I don't know anyone who disliked this game!

Yeah I would have to agree. All the games tend to be highly recommended to beat'em'up fans. I don't understand what hatred you are talking about. There is even the spin off series Beats of Rage for the Dreamcast which is a homebrew game.

I've never really heard anyone explain why they dislike Streets of Rage 3. The only explanation that I've heard is that the music isn't as good.

I just read The Video Game Critic's review of Streets of Rage 3. Once again, he only said the soundtrack was downgraded. There has to be more of a reason why the first two got a A- and A, while 3 got a B
