XBox 360 Backwards Compatibility?

My coworker just sold me his old 360, and while there are a lot of 360 games I'm eager to play, there are also some original Xbox games I'd like to try too. I just found out that only certain games work on the 360 though, and even those vary in terms of how well they work. Anyone have any input? What original Xbox games work well enough on the 360 that they're worth getting? I've already got my eye on Halo, Halo 2, Silent Hill 2, 3, and 4, and the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games.

Here's a list of Xbox games playable on Xbox 360: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_X ... ble_titles

It details which games run(PAL, NTSC) whether they support widescreen, 50Hz or 60Hz and notes on how they run.

That list has been vandalized, so take it with a grain of salt.

I've weeded some of it out in recent weeks, but I'm sure that there are additional errors and there's the possibility that some of my edits have been reverted. An awful lot of those titles shown as only backwards compatible in PAL territories are suspicious for example. Baseball games that are only on Europe's BC list? I'm only familiar with the North American list, but I don't buy that for a moment. It would be like a cricket game only making it to our BC selection.

I made a post about Xbox 360 backwards compatibility at AtariAge a few weeks ago that summarizes my thoughts.

Great when it works well, but it doesn't work well for very many games.
