Praise for Desert Falcon

I love this game! I know I'm in the minority but I really enjoy it. The 7800 version is obviously preferred but I also enjoy playing the 2600 (via the DS atari collection) on advanced mode. The action is frantic and I love swooping down grabbing power ups or treasure dodging enemies. It would be nice to see the 7800 version show up in a new flashback, done correctly of course. Any other fans of this game or am I just a strange bird?

I have the 2600 version, and I put in infinite hours playing it back in the day. Obviously, it's one of those games that just has not aged well in the slightest, and it has some really wonky play mechanics. But I do remember having fun with it as I would try to beat my high scores..

I remember searching for the hieroglyphics to warp to the end of each level on my 7800 version. I wasn't much of a "hi-score" player so while I had fun at the time I would have enjoyed it more if there had been some final end boss I was working towards.

Think I may have played it on the Atari Anthology ?
Had a hard time of it if memory recalls might need to spend more time with it.

Any collections that have it are going to have the 2600 version which is not nearly as good as the 7800 version. I still like the 2600 version though. I actually play the 2600 version more on the atari greatest hits for the DS because its more convenient.

This game is the best Atari game of all time.

At least until I played it. I mean, don't get me wrong, this is easily the best Zaxxon clone out there, with way more replay, but...

This game's Sphinx boss haunted me as a kid. Compared to my small 2600 library, that pixelart looked photorealistic. Imagining the game attached to it, was kind of like riding Falkor...

Looks like a re-review is in order! Especially in the waning days of summer?

Okay, I'm playing this on my Atari 7800. Question - do you guys use the Atari Pro Line controller with this?
I always feel like I'm struggling with that controller.
