Good Deal Games?

Postby VideoGameCritic » June 9th, 2020, 3:17 pm

In my early collecting years (around 2000) I bought a lot of games from Good Deal Games. I got a lot of new-in-box games for very reasonable prices.

Browsing around I noticed they are still around, and well-stocked with homebrews.

Should I be reviewing any of these games? Recommendations?

Wow, they've been around since I was just the weird kid who liked games before my time (and current gen as well). Most impressive.
On a side note, I wish more of the homebrews had ROMs available for purchase. I wanna play 'em, but I don't currently have a 2600 system to play them on. I still love that this homebrew market exists, though. I'm actually taking a Udemy class on 6502 assembly, taught through making 2600 games, which, if it goes well, maybe I'll make my own. Hmm......

I'd love to see a review on that Pro Bowling homebrew for the 2600. It looks really really good. And hopefully, it plays as good as it looks..

Sure VGC, I'd like to see Acid Trip and 2048 reviewed!

GDG is an awesome resource for retro games just like AtariAge but keep in mind their Atari 2600 games are limited to 2 and 4K games, so you won't see the larger 32K and 64K AtariAge games that have extra goodies packed in.

I'd also like to see you review ARKANOID AirHead from RelationalFramework, it's a fun Arkanoid clone that is different.
This one is designed to be a relaxed gaming experience, I loved your review of my earlier 70's style version BREAKANOID!

You can try it online here http://javatari.org/?ROM=http://relationalframework.com/ARKANOID_AIRHEAD_FINDS_AIRHEAD.bin&SCREEN_FULLSCREEN_MODE=1:

Here is the ROM for the Harmony cart along with an interesting anomalous version that changes depending upon the Atari console you play it on! :D
