I just learned I am recieving a Sega Saturn from a relative of mine for free. Would any of you recommend me some good games for it? I have heard it is good in the platforming and 2D fighting element.

I'm getting a Sega Saturn!
I myself just gota Saturn for christmas,so far I've only played my Saturn in spare time and I've played one game on it
Of course if you have it for PlayStation,no use getting it for Saturn
Give it up for...........
TOMB RAIDER!!!!!
Still Virtua Cop is a pretty fun light gun game to have around.
Still if you want a good fighter try Virtua Fighter 2 or Last Bronx

The relative I had mention DID say Tomb Raider was one of the ten games that she is giving away, so I guess I'm in good hands.

Get the following:
+Nights into Dreams + Analog Controller: This is THE title to own for the Saturn-it has beautiful art, catchy music, and fast paced, fun gameplay. (more than i can say for that atrocious Wii sequel...)
+Astal: A fun side scroller with beautiful 2-D sprites. A very underrated game.
+Rayman: A great side scroller with great graphics and music, but tough as nails. Still a must have all the same.
+Sonic Jam: A great collection of the first four Sonic games and the lock-on games, great extras (better than Mega Collection) and cool extra options for the games, including a save feature!
+Sonic 3D Blast: Gameplay wise its forgettable, but this port recieved a MAJOR graphical overhaul, and has a fantastic all new soundtrack! Also, theres a brand new special stage which is a million times better than the original 3D Blast special stage!
+Panzer Dragoon II Zwei: A nice rail shooter game-the whole feel of the game makes me think of Nausicaa (that Hayao Miyazaki film) for some reason.
+Virtua Fighter + Virtua Fighter II
+Clockwork Knight 1 + 2: Fun side scrollers-i don't understand why the critic gave the first one a D+, though...
+Midway Arcades Greatest Hits: The Atari Collection 1: Has six great classics like Tempest, Battlezone, Centipede, Missile Command, Breakout, and Asteroids.
+Darius Gaiden: Good shoot em up.
+Daytona USA: Fun racing game.
+Virtua Cop + Virtua Cop II: Good light gun games, especially II.
+The House of the Dead: A good light gun game. Really hard to find, though.
+Sega Rally Championship: Good dirt racing game.
+Area 51: Fun light fun game.
+Gex: Decent side scroller.

Congratulations on getting what I consider to be a very underrated, but niche system. If you can find an Action Replay Cart (with 4MB RAM), you can import some awesome Japanese games like the Capcom fighters. Vampire Savior (DarkStalkers 3) is my favorite Capcom game, and it's superior on the Saturn.

The Saturn also has some good first-person shooters.
Quake
Hexen
Powerslave
Duke Nukem 3D
Alien Trilogy
