Team Ico, developers of Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian have just released a trailer for their next project. The working title is Project Robot, and while the trailer didn't show any gameplay, there's a lot we can infer from it. It looks like it's going to combine the fantasy aesthetic they've used in their previous games (based on the characters's clothes) with a more futuristic, scifi world. More importantly, it looks like it will revolve around piloting a giant robot. They went from fighting giant monsters in SotC, to befriending one in TLG, so being able to play as the giant monster seems like the logical step forward to me. Judging by the way the main character climbs up to the robot's head, I'd assume that SotC's climbing mechanics are going to make a return, and that climbing and platforming across the robot is going to be a central gameplay mechanic. Maybe if the robot is damaged, you'll have to climb to the injury to repair it? There's no way to really say what they have in mind right now, but at the very least I think that'd be a cool concept. And since the robot's head is decapitated before becoming a flying machine, I think it's safe to say that putting the robot back to together is going to be a central part of the story, possibly with you piloting the head around until you can get it a new body.
What do you guys think?

Re: Team Ico reveals next game
If it's anything like his other games, you will wait years for it to come out. His latest game took, what, 8 years? The prior games each took 4. I've always loved the ideas of his games but never took the time to really get into them. I keep telling myself that when I retire from work one day, I'll go back and revisit a number of games, these included.
