I think this is a bit of a complicated reveal:
I think that innovation has been Nintendo’s biggest asset AND liability. People are complaining about Switch 2 being too similar to the first Switch, but isn’t this what they were asking for: a hybrid console with a better CPU that is backwards compatible and fixes some of the flaws from the previous generation? Nintendo themselves realized twenty years ago that they cannot compete directly with Sony and Microsoft, so expecting a powerhouse console from them is unrealistic.
However….
One issue with sticking to the same model is that it has lost its novelty. I’m curious about the cost because if they end up charging too much, they’ll be in the same bracket as the Steam Deck, a handheld that I’ll admit I’ve been curious about.
I feel that Nintendo has come a long way in earning back the goodwill of the third party developers, and I hope that they go to great lengths to offer a more user/developer friendly eshop and do a better job of curating it (sifting through the current eshop still feels like a laggy chore sometimes).

I think it’s great. Addressed biggest weakness, which was the joycons, and added a great feature with the mouse.
For everyone complaining about Mario kart. Be quiet , you know you’re going to buy it and be thrilled.

Yes, this!
First off, why wouldn’t Nintendo launching with the long-awaited sequel to one of their best-selling games be seen as anything less than a smart business move? They would be launching with a game that has insane replayability, is ridiculously supported, and is guaranteed to have long-term online support! It would be the perfect game to launch with!
I noticed something with Mario Kart, and I hope it’s what I think it is: ski wheels! The thought of having skiing segments excites me, and could add an interesting wrinkle to the series! I’d also love to see them bring back the dual karts of Double Dash!
What I’d love to see them do is move Metroid Prime 4 to Switch 2 and launch alongside Mario Kart 9. I feel that Nintendo could make the Metroid series a big seller, if they released it at the right time. As a launch title, I feel a new Metroid could reach 4-6 million in sales, or more.

Another thing they could do, that would utilize the mouse feature:
A full revival of Mario Paint.
If they really wanted to, they could polish up the original, and include it as a pack-in/built in feature.

Funny to see people complaining about a new Mario Kart after the past 8 years of complaining about not getting a new Mario Kart.
