Word going around the internet is that Bethesda is going to surprise us with a remake of Oblivion sometime soon. I've even heard people say the release date's been leaked, and it'll go up for sale on the 21st. I wouldn't be surprised if Bethesda did rerelease Oblivion, but I have a hard time believing they would do it without announcing it at least a few weeks in advance to drum up hype.
What do you guys think, and are you going to buy it if and when the remake comes out?

100 percent getting it. It is one of the games I played to death on the 360. Also, it is the reason I got a 360. I had the previous game which while being amazing, I am not sure I finished one quest. I finished all of them on 360. I also played and beat all the DLC. I played it for a year, and nothing else. I hope they keep Patrick Stewart in it but put in some more actors. I think they were about 4 different voice actors in the game.
I do not like the MMO ESO even though I have played 120 hours of it. If you are not playing it with someone else or a team of people it is pretty unplayable. As I mainly like single player RPGs I have been very disappointed with it.

Does it really need a remake? I'm someone who only gave it very limited time, but sanding off all the edges of it seems like it would lose a lot of the charm of the original.

Re: The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remake
I had a 20-minute discussion with a fellow fan of the game. We talked about it, I have been finding it harder to find anything to play recently. With a lot of the big new releases leaving me cold. As such I was talking about the year I got out of this game, about coming home with something to look forward to playing after a day at work. When not seeing my GF.
Might be shadow dropping today. It might not.

Looks like they've officially announced a release date of April 22 2025. I don't know if there'll be a physical release yet, but it will at the very least become available for download at 11am est.

I'm buying it! I'll even spring for the deluxe edition, even though I'm not sure it is worth the extra $10! Hope they release a physical version as well.
