Highguard. Another one bites the dust

Postby BlasteroidAli » March 4th, 2026, 11:49 pm

So about a month back, HG turned up. It was a 3v3 pvp game. Free to play but think it had microtransactions to pay for it. It was out on Xbox but after looking at the reviews, I decided not to try it.
After about 6 weeks of release, the game is being withdrawn. It is not the shortest PVP online only shooter to have sank after being torpedoed by gamers, that is Concord, 2 weeks. Hg lasted 7.

Why I never bother with Online only games.

It turns out, flooding the market with the exact same thing 5000 times isn't how a healthy industry runs.

I just played it and it took me less than a week to complete all achievements.

1983 and the Atari crash was supposed to be a warning, not a marketing plan.
