Playstation 4 controllers = CRAP
As I've stated earlier I really like it, I find it very comfortable I thought the touch pad was well used in both Killzone and Metal Gear Solid V, I also like how the colour of the pad light changes depending what's happening on screen (for example if your close to death on Killzone, it will glow red and slowly change to as you recover) which is a nice touch.
I do agree with you on the lack of the start button however, it is irritating especially if you move between consoles if you stick predominantly to the PS4 I can see it being less of an issue over time.
And yes the charge doesn't hold as well as the PS3 so that is a drawback.
But overall I think it's a great controller.
